Fannie M. Jones

Fannie in Loving memory of Fannie Mary Jones who departed this life on February 15,2014 after a brief illness to be with the Lord. Fannie was born on December 29, 1929 Halifax North Carolina . She was the daughter of the late Sherman and Lillie Hawkins. There were 8 children from that union, ; Sherman, Thomas Lee, Clarence, Dorothy, Pearlyn, Lucille, Beatrice and Fannie. Sherman and Lillie moved to Baltimore when Fannie was a teenager. Fannie attended Dunbar High School. She worked in the nursing profession and took care of the sick. She later met Herbert Jones, they married and had 3 children. Fannie joined the first Baptist Church And faithful member for over 45years , she always talked about how much she loved her church and friend ships she had developed with the members . She was president of the usher Board and always willing to assist her church and the in whatever capacity she was needed. She has been recognized on numerous occasions for the outstanding commitments she has given to her church. Fannie lived at home for almost 50years and always talked about how blessed she was for the wonderful neighbors she had. She Loved the Lord , she would often say I have to get off the phone now because I want to read my bible. Some of her great pass times were going out to eat, working in her garden and just talking on the phone with family and friends .She was a person who loved meeting people and maintaining their friend ships. Fannie loved her family and she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by her late son Herbert Jones Jr. and late grandson Fidel Williams, daughters,Alfreda Jones, Michelle Lee,Donna Jones, step son Carlton Jones, grandson Nicholas Riley. Her sisters, Lucille Klyce and Pearlyn Johnson. Her Nephews James Rose & Kevin Johnson and nieces Lynn Kees. Angle Barnes, Rochelle, Tanya and a host of other family members and friends. Fannie will always have a special place in the hearts of Ruby Williams and Rudy Raley. NANNA, I love and respect you for more that you probably know or can ever imagine , and I always will. Nanna you were a fearless, and determined fighter, and you never gave up. Thus I look forward to seeing you again and soon, but not too soon----smile. Love You Forever your Son, Rudy
