FAITH CHARLON EDWARDS-PARKS... On May 13, 2015, God called Faith Charlon Edwards-Parks home from her earthly circle of love to her eternal rest and reward. Faith was born in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, on March 28, 1958, to Edith Sheelor Carr and the late Charles Edward Jones. Faith married her long time friend, James Parks. They shared a life and a home in Baltimore, Maryland. Faith was a 1976 graduate of McKinley Tech High School in Washington, D.C. She then moved to Syracuse, New York to fulfill her life-long dream of becoming a journalist. She was admitted to Syracuse University and graduated in 1981. Faith served as Press Coordinator for Dukakis for President campaign, Press Secretary for D.C. Councilman John Wilson, Communications Director for the D.C. City Council, the Congressional Black caucus Foundation, Executive Leadership Council & Foundation, Regional Communications Director for Obama 2008 and 2012 Presidential Campaigns, Special Assistant to the President of the Parker Group (public relations), legal secretary/paralegal for Lerch, Early & Brewer, Executive Assistant for the Vice President of RLJ Development, LLC, and Court Secretary for the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. With her vast experience, Faith decided it was time to become the boss and began her own public relations company, “Oz Communications”. Faith's life encounters touched the hearts of people from every walk of life – from conversations with Nelson Mandela to mentoring young women residing at St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore (Sarah's Hope), she shared her gifts with a vast array of people, especially children. Cherishing Faith's memory are her husband, James Parks; daughter, Njeri High; mother, Edith Carr; sisters, Sybil Haynes (Charles), Edythe Renee Griffin (Michael), and Stacey Collins; nieces, Brittany Collins and Jada Allen; nephews, Wesley Terry, Jr., Alvin Wiliams, william Griffin, Eddie Thames, Anthony Allen and her “Sunshine” Deveon “DJ”; several aunts, and a host of other relatives and friends. We thank god for His precious gift of the beautiful witness and example of Faith's life of service and great love for humanity. She was a lover of people, an accomplished business woman and an amazing human being. Surely, the impact she had on the lives she touched was positive, profound and far reaching. Blessed are we to have been recipients of her kindness, her mentorship, her wisdom, her love and her friendship. The precious soul of our wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, godmother, mentor and our friend was gently led into paradise during the darkness of the night on the 13th day of May. Our peace with her sunset is that we know she is now among the great cloud of witnesses who watch over us and encourage us to do the things that will please God. Further, as we continue to heal from her parting, Faith's sweet hovering spirit will linger and the sound of her voice will forever rise up in our hearts as a testament of love shared. We are honored and grateful that God allowed us to occupy even a small place within her dash; 1958 – 2015.
