Ethel Lee Lambert

ETHEL LEE LAMBERT was born in Georgetown, South Carolina to the late Susanna Linnen Greene. Soon after, she was received by her parents the late Robert and Anita Ford. She departed this life on August 15, 2024. Ethel attended the public school system in South Carolina before moving to Baltimore, Maryland where she graduated with her high school diploma and culinary arts certificate from Fairmount Hill High School. Baltimore is also where she met and married her late husband, John Oris Lambert, and had five children, one of which preceded them in death, Frances Lambert. Through her husband she met her sister-in-law and best friend Goldie Lambert. Ethel cherished their bond and always spoke highly of her forever best friend Goldie. Ethel went on to become a magnificent cook and baker. She had chef level skills before the Food Network made cooking so popular. She would always say, “Betty Crocker and Pillsbury isn’t got nothing on me.” Her accolades in the trade include first place ribbons in several cooking contests, recognition in the newspaper, and acknowledgement of her awesome cooking skills on a local radio station. Ethel worked at several places that afforded her the opportunity to show-off her talent to create great food dishes, which included Stewart’s Restaurant, Woolworth’s Counter, Ollie’s Catering, Montebello Hospital, and Post Office Cafeteria. Ethel had an enormous love for cooking and baking. Her favorite time of year was Thanksgiving and Christmas where she always made her signature Banana Pudding dish. If you knew her you knew her extensive salt and pepper shaker collection. Everyone was amazed at the number and variety of sets she had on display. She also became active at the Overlea-Fullerton Senior Center where she met so many new friends. She enjoyed playing bingo and traveling with them. She was a virtuous woman with a quiet and loving spirit who loved the Lord more than anything. Ethel had a good life. She never put anything or anyone before the Lord. She was a longstanding member of New Frontiers of Faith Baptist Church. A church where she encouraged both her children and grandchildren to attend and learn about the love of God. Ethel loved her family and raised not only her five children, but her three young grandchildren when her daughter died. She leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Bobby Lambert, Curtis Lambert, and Trini Lambert (wife Deborah); daughter, Theresa Goodwin (husband Kelly) and Kelly Dickerson who was like a daughter to Ethel; four grandsons, Jonathan Lambert, Rakeem Spann, Aaron X, and Curtis Lambert Jr; five granddaughters, Kiana Martin, Tyesha Lambert, Ashley Ridgeway, Kiar Lambert, and Kyla Lambert. six brothers, Joseph Small (wife Virginia), Robert Small, Joe Greene, Robert Ford (wife Debra), Arthur Ford (wife Joann), and Roger Ford (wife Stephanie); five sisters, Mary Middleton, Susie Smith (husband Nathaniel), Loretta Castle (husband Matthew), Roberta Marable (husband Norman), and Beverly Ford; ten great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
