Ethel Nelson Coleman

Mrs. Ethel Monyvette Nelson Coleman passed after a courageous short battle of cancer, June 17, 2021. She was born November 21, 1962 in Richmond,Virginia. She is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Coleman, her parents; Mr. Albert and Mrs. Alfreda Nelson, Mother-in-law; Mrs. Bernice Hicks, one sister Aljawana (Bolden) Smith, Bonus son; Lamont Nelson, Bonus daughter; Shielena Coleman, two nieces; Shannon Smith and Patreace Thornton, five nephews; Johnathan, Joshua, Donovan, Marcus (Chantelle) Smith, Cory Thornton,two uncles,Marvin (Ruth) Staley, Sr. and Stanley (Willie) Oliver, three brothers-in-law; Alvin (Lorraine) Coleman, Antonio (Tamara) Hicks , Tony (Regina) Webb, two God children; Dejaqne and Eriq Brown, childhood friends she considered brother and sister; Brian Adams and Maria Brown, and a host of other family and friends. Ethel graduated from Marshall/Walker High School in 1981, where she played field hockey. She attended Virginia Union University and was avid supporter of her Alumni activities. Ethel retired from Bank of America after 25 years of service. She was currently employed at Good Neighbors Homes. Ethel was a true Dallas Cowboys fan and loved her fur baby boy, “Justus”. Ethel was a loving Caregiver to her parents, family and friends. Ethel met the love of her life, Kenneth Coleman. They were united in marriage August 10, 2019. They enjoyed beautiful vacations and had a lot of fun times on their motorcycle trips. Kenneth was her “rock”, and she “completed” him. God’s Garden God looked around His garden and He found an empty place. And then He looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you, and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain, He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids, and whispered "Peace be thine." Then he took you up to heaven with hands so gentle and kind. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. ~author unknown~
