Ernest Shelton Roane

Ernest Shelton Roane, Sr., son of the late Bishop Ernest C. and Mother Thelma R. Roane, was born August 29, 1954. He departed this life suddenly on Saturday 19, 2009 at home.Ernest received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System graduating from Baltimore City College High School and furthering his education at the Community College of Baltimore graduating and receiving an Associate of Arts Degree in Accounting, Biology and Criminal Justice.Being the son of a Pastor, Ernest enjoyed watching how the Spirit of the Lord worked through his father. In wanting to learn more, he accepted Jesus into his life at an early age and worked faithfully in the Church.In 1975, Ernest S.Roane and Diane Bartee-Roane were joined in marriage. From this union two children were born, Shawnta and Ernest S. Roane, Jr.Ernest served in the USAir Force and received an Honorable Discharge. After his discharge, he returned to Maryland and continued his fellowship at the Blazing Star Pentecostal Church under the leadership pf his father, the late Bishop Ernest C. Roane.Ernest worked many jobs and gained respect as a positive leader and role model. Just to name his achievements in life, he served and was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force, attended the Mass Transit Police Academy and trained with Prince Georges County Police Department becoming certified for the State of Maryland, worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier, Food and Drug Administration as an Enforcement Agent, Rite-Aid Loss Prevention Officer, a member of Royal Cab Association Owner/Driver entrepreneur and assisted with the family home improvement business.Ernest shared warm, encouraging words with people wherever he traveled. His kindness, humor and compassion for helping people in need will be remembered.Ernest is survived by; his wife, Diane Roane, father-in-law Warren Moyd, Sr.; five children, Ernest S. Roane Jr.; Shawnta, Julian, Jerel and Monique Roane, one daughter-in-law, Kia Roane; two grandchildren, Kennedy and Trey; four sisters, Velma Bush, Regina Roane, Ernestine Roane-Spence and Lorna Roane-Wise; two brothers, Elder David G. and Pastor Kelvin A. Roane Sr.; six brothers-in-law, Thomas and Warren Moyd, Jr., Keith Bartee, Gerald Spence, Milton Bush and Myron Wise; five sisters-in-law, Tony Worley, Debra Bartee, Dorothea Knotts, Audrey and Linda Roane, five aunts, Dr. Clara E. Mayes, Ethel Wise, Gladys Roane, Elder Wise, Gladys Roane, Elder Shirley Roane and Nellie Pollard; two uncles, George Brooks and Roy Pollard; s special friend, Ms. Judith Ellis and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
