Ella Marie Bullock

Ella Marie Bullock was born May 28,1935 in Warrenton County,NC to the late Rufus and Christanna Clark,Sr. She went from labor to reward on Tuesday,September 6,2011. Ella was the 3rd oldest of 13 siblings and was affectionately called "Ree" by her family and friends. She attended Warrenton County High School in Warrenton County,NC and graduated in 1954. In her younger years Ella Marie was married to Fred Bullock and to this union Leon,Chris,Norma Jean,Fred Alfred,Jr. and Kenton were all born. In 1956 Ella and her family relocated to Richmond,Virginia where she was employed at Medical College of VA Hospital(MCVH) for nine years in the Housekeeping Department. Ella was very passionate about her work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She loved children.which motivated her to pursue a career as a Teacher's Aid for eight years at Cinderella Day Care. Ella's love for people and willingness to help lead her to a career in the medical field where she served as a Private Duty Nurse until she retired in 2002 at the age of 67. Ella was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who was the nucleus of the family. She loved taking care of others and was a compassionate person who would give selflessly to others when in need. She was a wise woman who loved to share her knowledge and wisdom to her siblings,children,grandchildren,nieces and nephews. There was always an appreciation for her direct approach,as she believed in "telling it like it is." Her favorite saying was "Life is not what you take it to be,but what you make it to be." She enjoyed sewing,cooking and loved to attend theatre plays. She was a loyal,dedicated and loveable mother,sister,aunt,cousin,friend and co-maker. Ella definitely believed in God and served and supported others with love just as Jesus commanded that we should. She was a member of Trinty Baptist Church and her favorite song was"Jesus Is Love" by Lionel Ritchie and the Commodores. Ella was preceded in death by her,birth parents;Rufus and Christanna Clark,Sr. and two brothers,Thomas and Henry Clark. Ella leaves to cherish her memory,two daughters,Chris E. Riley and Norma Jean Bullock,of Richmond,VA. Three sons;Leon Bullock(Vickie)of Richmond,VA,Fred Alfred Bullock,Jr.(Julia)of Chesterfield,VA. and Kenton Jay Bullock,Sr. (Bridget Hobson,Devoted Friend),six grandchildren;Edward A. Riley,Leon Dyril Bullock,Kenton Jay Bullock,Jr.Candice Marie Bullock,John Winston,Jr. and Tiffany Nicole Bullock. Two great grandchildren;Elijah Smith and Tyler Berry of Richmond,VA. Also cherishing her memory are three brothers;Rufus Clark,Jr.(Barbara) of Richmond,VA.,Earnest Lee Clark (Betty) of Emporia,VA.;Odell Clark(Lisa) of Plainfield,NJ.,seven sisters;Cherry Bell Moss(Tarzan)of Richmond,VA.,Mary Jenkins of Westfield,NJ.,Deloris Henderson of Chesterfield,VA;Evone Clark of South Plainfield,NJ;Christianne Smith of Minter,AL.,Lenora Mack(Robert)of Lake Wylie,SC and Cynthia Smith of Selma,AL.
