Mrs. Elizabeth Helena Williams

Elizabeth Helena Williams, lovingly known by family and friends as "Tissie," was the devoted daughter of the late John Robert Young and Claudia Mae Young. She peacefully transitioned to her eternal home on Friday, November 14, 2025. She was preceded in death by two sons, Frederick "Bamma" E. Williams and Raymond "Doc" W. Williams, and one daughter, Claudia "Bibby" E. Langley. At a young age, Elizabeth accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Morning Star Baptist Church in Clairton, Pennsylvania. She received her early education in Clairton and later graduated from Douglas High School in Baltimore, Maryland. Elizabeth worked faithfully at the University of Maryland Hospital for more than 20 years. Later in life, with determination and grace, she earned her Paralegal degree from the University of Maryland at College Park. After graduation, she dedicated countless hours conducting legal research in the law library for a Judge work she cherished deeply. Elizabeth met and married Edward Williams of Gainesville, Florida. From their union, they were blessed with six children. Affectionately known throughout her community as "Granny," Elizabeth touched countless lives with her warmth, generosity, and kindness. Her home was always open, and she joyfully brought her children, grandchildren, and neighborhood children to church, nurturing their spiritual foundation with love. She was a dedicated member of Liberty Grace Church of God under the leadership of Pastor Miya King-Ridenhour and Senior Pastor Terris King, Sr., attending faithfully as long as her health allowed. Psalm 122:1—"I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord"—perfectly embodied her spirit. Even when limited by health challenges, she continued to worship through televised and digital services. Elizabeth loved singing, reading her Bible, and listening to her grandchildren read scripture to her. She supported missionary work in Africa and Haiti and was a longtime supporter of Feed the Children and Rabbi Kirt Schneider's Jewish Jesus ministry in Israel. Elizabeth "Tissie" Williams leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters Geraldine Williams and Karen Aiken, her son-in-law Jerome Aiken, and her son Edward Williams; daughter-in-law Janie Williams. She is also remembered with love by her extended Cherryhill Ford family. She is survived by her sister Ruth Dorsey; her brother Calvin Young (Bernadine)sister-in-law Alice Hamlin; brother-in-law Curtis Williams (Mary) her; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Her life was a testament to faith, service, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
