Elizabeth S. Caesar

Elizabeth Scott Caesar, loving daughter of the late Charley and Cora Scott was born on May 10, 1936 in Lynchburg, VA. Affectionately known as “Mother”, she was educated in the Public School System’s of Lynchburg, VA. In 1949 Elizabeth met Lee Roy Caesar, they were joined together in holy matrimony on July 8, 1950. In 1952, Elizabeth and Lee Roy relocated to Baltimore, MD where Mother lived the duration of her life. Mother was employed as a seamstress at the well-known company, Lebow Brothers. She was also a paraprofessional with the Baltimore Public School System until her retirement. Mother was a faithful member of the First Church of Jesus, pastored by Bishop Willie Mack who Baptized her in Jesus name in January 1951and she also received the precious Gift of The Holy Ghost that same year. After coming to Baltimore, Mother became a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ where the late Bishop S.C. Johnson was the pastor. In 1954 Mother became a member of United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) where Bishop James Thornton is pastor. In 1977, Mother joined Refuge Way of the Cross Church where Bishop Leroy H. Cannady Sr. is pastor. There, she formed the Holy Ghost Inspirational Choir (H.G.I.C.). Mother was also a member of the Refuge Chorus, and she taught one of the young adult Sunday school classes. God spoke with Mother on a daily basis, and one day Mother decided that she wanted to know and learn God’s teaching even more by attending the Baltimore School of the Bible where she graduated with honors and was certified by God. In 1991, Mother became a member of Calvary Temple where Elder Thomas Outlen is pastor. She was a faithful member of the choir. Mother Caesar was called to the ministry by God as an evangelist and was licensed on September 7, 1993. After the conclusion of her work at Calvary Temple, Mother was pressed to move on where she became a member of the Church of the Redeemed of the Lord where Bishop Jerome Stokes is pastor. Mother taught the class of Honesty each Sunday morning, she was a member of the adult choir, and a member of the actor’s guild before becoming very ill. Mother was the Founder of the Logos Ministries, Harmonizer Consolators and the Caesar Specials who she literally birth in the natural and in the spiritual. Mother Caesar had and anointed voice of and angel and one of her favorite sons was “ Lord You Brought Me from a Mighty Long Way”. In 1972, Mother was inspired by God to bring her children (The Caesar Specials) to record their first record “I Don’t Mind” and "He Didn’t Have To Do It but He Did." Mother leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of fifty-two years, Lee Roy Caesar, Sr. Out of their union eight children were born: Jerry Sr., Deborah Caesar Weathers (deceased), Gerald Sr., Portsmouth, VA; Barbara Caesar, Atlanta, GA; Machelle Caesar Albright, Lee Roy Jr., Greensboro, NC; Iris (Tammy) Caesar, and Julius (Michael). Mother is also survived by two brothers, George Doss, Syracuse, NY and Lawrence Scott, Mesa, AR; one sister, Rosa Parrish, Lynchburg, VA, four daughters-in-law, Valjean, Renee, Lenora and Charlene; one devoted son-in-law, Gerald Albright; two nieces, Patricia Dabney, Lynchburg, VA; Karen Dean, Greensboro, NC, one nephew, Butch Parrish, thirty grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, long time best friend Dora Benbow and a host of other relatives and friends.
