Elizabeth Prioleau

ELIZABETH LADSON, daughter of the late Beulah Ladson and Eddie Nixon, was born October 4, 1933 in Shullerville, South Carolina. She departed this earthly journey on July 4, 2005. She was educated in the school system of Jamestown, South Carolina. After completing her studies, she moved to Baltimore, Maryland. There Elizabeth, met and wed the late John Thomas Prioleau, Sr.. Of this union were six children. She was preceded in death by three sons, Robert (Peter) Ladson, Johnny Tyrone Prioleau Sr., and John Thomas Jr. "Liz," as she was fondly known, was a homemaker. She was a babysitter for her neighbors, as well as for her two precious great-grandchildren, Darreus and Dairriah. Elizabeth joined the Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. William Tapscott. She sang on the Voices of Tabernacle, the Women of Praise Choir, and the Mass Choir. She was also a member of the Soup Kitchen Ministry. Liz served her Church faithfully until her health prohibited doing so. She was a very outgoing person. "Miss Liz" had numerous friends, especially in her neighborhood. Everyone knew that they could always get a "good" meal at Miss Liz's house. She would cook enough to feed just about the entire neighborhood. Left to cherish her memory are: three daughters, Willie Bea Gadsden (Dan) of Pineville, S.C., Ramona Logan (James III) and B. Vanessa Prioleau of Baltimore, Md.; father, Eddie Nixon (Daisy) of New Castle, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Johnnie Tyrone Prioleau Jr., Sherrie Prioleau, Brandi Gadsden, Marcus Prioleau, Tara Prioleau, Asia Logan, James Logan, and Martyne Logan; six great-grandchildren, a goddaughter, Chrystal Ball; seven sisters, Jeanette Alston (Harold), Beverly Perkins, Audrey Foster (Willie), Annie Nixon, Leslie Hollins (Samuel), Marlene Nixon and Michelle Krumm (Gregory); three brothers, Clarence Ladson, Darrell Nixon, and Michael Nixon; three aunts, Louise Ladson, Victoria Hodges, and Willie Bea Ladson; five sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She had three devoted friends, Peggy Hayes, Glossie Joyner, and Naomi Morris; and her faithful and attentive sister-in-law, Malqueen Hamilton; and son-in-law, James III.
