Elizabeth C. Holloman

ELIZABETH CARTER HOLLOMAN, was born to the late Virginia Carter Jones and the late James Jones on August 23, 1926, in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was the second of four children, Hugh “Buddy” Carter, Elizabeth Carter, James “Jimmy” Jones and Norvell “Billy” Carter. A TIME TO LEARN Elizabeth was educated in the Public School System of Lynchburg, Virginia. She graduated from high school in the 1940’s and quickly developed a passion for taking care of other. A TIME TO WORK: At the age of eighteen, Elizabeth moved to Maryland and worked at the Pentagon during the war manufacturing ammunition. She later settled in Baltimore, Maryland where she continued to nature and care for others as a nurse at City Hospital. TIME TO LOVE: Elizabeth came to know Jesus at an early age. She was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church. Elizabeth then later grew in Christ and worshipped consistently with True Vine Deliverance Ministries under the leadership of Reverend Delores Prout, who continued to worship with Elizabeth until her last days on earth. A TIME TO DIE: Elizabeth suffered a stroke in September of 2007 and never fully recovered from the impact. She was tenderly cared for by her loving son, Sanifu for the last three years. On Wednesday, October 20, 2010 God dispatched His angels into Sinai Hospital and gently took Elizabeth home to be with Him. A TIME TO CELEBRATE: She is preceded in death by husband, Ronald Holloman; sons, Ronald “Peedy” Morris and Frazier “Boo-Boo Morris; adopted son, Samuel “Bruce” White; and grandson, Dwayne F. Morris. She leaves to celebrate her life: three sons, Sanifu, David and Robert (Lena); grandchildren, Sean, Tony, Roland, Antoine, Shelley, Ayanna, David, Karam, Karima, June, Rashad, Joshua, Maisha, Shayla, Damon and Dontae; two nieces, she raised as her own, Ava and Ayana; beloved life-long friend, Mary Lee, twenty-three great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.. A TIME TO SHARE: Elizabeth, who was so lovingly known as “Susie” was a very nurturing and fun women. She showed everyone she knew love. Anyone who was in need, Susie extended a helping hand to feed, clothe or even provide shelter. Before her illness, Susie cooked every Sunday and was more than happy to fix a neighborhood kids would tell you what’s on her mind out of love. She was known as the neighborhood mother. All of the neighborhood kids would come to her house for food, fun and refuge. She raised five sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great-grandchildren. Everyone who knew Susie was truly blessed.
