Elizabeth V. Evans

ELIZABETH EVANS was born on April 29, 1936 to the late John Parker. And Amanda Devine Parker in Edgemere, Maryland. Elizabeth Evans, known to her family and friends as “Peggy,” gave her life to the Lord at an early age. Peggy was a phenomenal woman. She was the definition of beauty; a stern, strong intelligent mother that adored and prayed or her family. Peggy was loved by all and she shared her love of life with all of those who came within her presence. She transitioned into heaven on January 14, 2016. Peggy married Thomas C. Ricks, Sr on July 13, 1953, He preceded her in death. On January 12, 1990, she married Angelo Evans . Peggy was educated through the Baltimore City Public school system. She continued her educational pursuits and received her Nursing Assistance Certification in 1971. Peggy began her professional career at North Charles General Hospital in the intensive care unit. She worked at North Charles General Hospital for 15 years. Later, the Lord lead her to the Stella Maris Hospice. Where she remained until she retired. Peggy had three passions in her life: her family and friends, cooking, and the Lord. Peggy was surrounded by a devoted family and great friends, who she kept close throughout her life. She loved to cook Oftentimes, Peggy would awake early in the morning and have her dinner cooked by lunchtime. One of her greatest passions was inviting her family and friends over for meals and celebrations, but, most of all Peggy loved the Lord. She served on the Nursing and Usher Boards at Manna Bible Community Church under the Leadership of Pastor Brown for 12 years. On January 5, 2003, she joined the Concord Baptist Church and continued to serve under the leadership of Dr. Matthew L. Jones. Peggy had six siblings who preceded her in death; Earl Parker; Earnest Parker, John Parker, Jr. Wilbert Parker; Freddie Parker, and Fannie Mae Parker-Dickerson, Peggy also had three children who preceded her in death; Evon Ricks, Sharon Ricks, Tyrone Ricks. Forever to cherish her memory are her husband, Angelo Evans; her two sons Thomas C. Ricks, Jr. and Kevin (Shonda) Ricks; four daughters Paulette (John) Woodson, Bernadette (John) Brown, Jacqueline Ricks, Antoinette Richards; one sister; Rosetta Parker- Weeks; four stepchildren: Berdina Evans, Angela Evans, St Matthew Evans, and Andre Evans, Peggy also had a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as extended family members and friends.
