Elijah Stewart

SUNRISEELIJAH STEWART was born on June 10, 1937 to the late Ivan and Beatrice Stewart in Blackwoods, Jamaica, West Indies.MILESTONES He grew up in Blackwood with his brothers and sisters. He also attended school there. As a child, he showed a strong interest in building things. So, he went to trade school and specialized in carpentry.LIFE'S JOURNEY The good Lord allowed him to meet, fall in love and marry his “pretty” wife, Olive (then Leslie). They have been married for thirty-six years. This union brought forth two children. After being in Jamaica with his family for awhile, he migrated to Baltimore, Maryland where he resided. He continued to work in construction and helped build the Harbor Tunnel. He worked for the Local 516 Union until he retired.CHURCH, SPIRITUAL & SOCIAL LIFE In 1990, Elijah gave his life to the Lord, his church and walk became his life. He loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Shiloh Church of God 7th Day in Baltimore, Maryland, where he worshipped God in the beauty of holiness. Elijah loved God, his family and his church family. He loved to entertain others. He loved to travel to Jamaica with his wife and grandchildren during the summer and winter months. While at home in Jamaica, he enjoyed long walks with his grandchildren, but most importantly, he loved farming.SUNSET After a lengthy illness, our awesome and all knowing God in his wisdom took him to glory on Wednesday, December 13, 2006. He will be truly missed by all who loved and knew him. He leaves to cherish wonderful memories: his wonderful, “pretty” wife, Olive; his children, Roy and Audrey; sisters, Gloria, Brenda, Paulett, Norma, Myrtle, Maicie and Dawn; brothers, Joe, Osmond, Denzel, Ragland, Lyland and Clinton; sisters-in-law, Una, Gwen, Joyce, Kathleen, Hazel and Monica; brothers-in-law, Justin, Cecil, Eric,, Ratcliff and Percy; daughter-in-law, Madge; grandchildren, Simone, Clive, Rochelle, Telithia, Brieana and Shaunah; great-grandchildren, Crystal, Ashley, Alex, William and Elijah. Special thanks and recognition to God; our church family at Shiloh; Dr. Greenwell; Dr. Lequana; The Staff at Devita Dialysis; Mercy; Staff of Medicare Ambulance (Diane, Ann); co-workers at Community Hospice of Maryland, Charmaine, Mark and Rodrick; three awesome sisters, Una, Gwen and Joyce. Very special thanks to our friends, Deacon Robinson, Deacon Wayne, Evangelist C. Owio, Missionary Drummond, Bro. and Sis. Grizzle, Melva, Lorna, Lurlene, Evangelist Smith, Bro. Mason, Sis. Hird, Sis.
