Edward L. Jackson

Edward Lewis Jackson, born April 20, 1949, the oldest son of Edward Ulysses Jackson and the late Vivian Elizabeth Jackson, departed this life on November 4, 2015. Edward, affectionately known as "Ed", was born and raised in Baltimore City and was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. After graduating from Douglass High School, he enlisted into the United States Air Force. On June 29, 1968, Ed married the love of his life, Sheila Louise Jackson, who preceded him in death. Their union lasted thirty-five years, and blessed them with four daughters, six grandchildren, one great-grandson and one great-grandson on the way. After serving his term in the United States Air Force, Ed joined the Balti- more City Police Department, then later joined the Maryland State Police Department, and lastly served as a federal officer in the United States Library of Congress. After years of being a public servant, he decided to become an entrepre- neur. He created, owned and operated one of the most successful private process service companies in Baltimore. He later expanded his business to include transportation services. During his almost thirty years of busi- ness, Ed provided job opportunities for many of his family members. He provided services to many law firms in the Greater Baltimore Metropoli- tan area and was widely known for his accuracy and dependability. He always believed that "if you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life." In his rare leisure time, Ed enjoyed horse racing, trips to Las Vegas and spending quality time with his very large family. He always made himself available to give advice and support whenever family and friends needed it. Even though he was thought of as a hard-driven business man, he always had a soft spot for his family and friends. Ed leaves to cherish his memory: his four daughters, Vivian, Crystal, Deidre and LaTanya; his two sons-in-law, Kenneth, and LaMar; his long time girlfriend, Sonya Nichols; his four brothers, Cliff, Gregory, Philip and Donald; two sisters-in-law, Darlene and Monica; his grandchildren, Ashley, Mark, Darius, Michael, Ebony and Darrien; nieces, Lisa, Desiree and Azia; nephews, Wesley and Jeremy; great-grandson, Darius, Jr.; great nieces, Takia, Anahita, Alaina, Adrienne and Leah; great-nephew, Dante, and a host of other family and friends.
