Edna Lee McNeal

A mother, wife, sister, daughter, and confidant. She was so many things to so many people, and she was blessed and lived her life with the heart of God. Edna Lee McNeal (referred to as Sister) was born on March 31, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on June 27, 2018. Edna completed her education at Carver Vocational Technical High School in Baltimore. She married the late Clarence Franklin McNeal and out of that union a daughter was born, Edna. Her second union was with the late Collins “Floyd” Bulls and out of that union another daughter was born, Colleen. Edna and Floyd raised both daughters together. Edna was well liked and friendly. Most people described her as “so nice” or would say “I love your mother.” She was good friend; a friend who was there when you were in need. Edna loved crossword and sudoku puzzles. In her senior years she believed that the puzzles would keep her mind sharp. She loved eating in restaurants such as Chiapparelli’s in Little Italy and McCormick and Schmick in Fells Point. She worked as a maid for people such as the opera singer, the late Rosa Ponselle. Edna was a daycare teacher’s aide at Wyman Park Daycare Center but spent most of her life as a homemaker. Edna’s work was around her family. As a homemaker, she took on the calling to take care of her mother, Edna Warren because she did not want to put her in a senior long-term care facility. Edna sacrificed her wants and needs so that her loved ones could enjoy their lives. In essence, caring for others was her life’s work. Edna’s work is done here, but she wants you to know that God has offered her the best job she has ever had; a job that she will never lose and it comes with bonuses, which include being reunited with family and friends, love, laughter, peace and all the riches that the world could not give her. Edna loved to do many things for her family, especially sharing wisdom with her daughters, Edna and Colleen. Edna always reminded them that “Time waits for no one.” She is survived and loved by: her sister, Helen Huey; two daughters, Edna Harold (referred to as Candy) and Colleen Madrid Matute; a stepson, James Tedder; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
