Earl D. Miser

Earl D. Miser, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on February 1, 1942 to the late Fred Watts and Ethel Miser. The pronouncement of the demise of Earl Miser from this earthy tabernacle to his heavenly home came from the Atlanta Medical Center, Atlanta Georgia on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 1:37 p.m. He was educated in the public school system in Baltimore, graduating from the Dunbar Senior High School class of 1960. Earl attended Coppin State University earning a degree n Criminal Justice. His minor subject was Sociology. During Earl's employment with the State of Maryland, he was initially hired by the Maryland State Police Supply Division in Pikesville, Maryland. While employed at the Maryland State Police, Earl was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnamera in 1967. upon completion of his military duty in the United States Army, Earl received an honorary discharge and obtained the rank of staff Sergeant, E-6. Earl returned to work force at Maryland State Police Criminal Records-Central Repository. He was a member of MCEA Chapter No. 38 and at one time served as Vice President. Earl traveled to the annual MCEA Convention held in Ocean City, Maryland for four decades. Easl accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at the Southern Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. James R. Grant and remained at Southern until he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia over a decade ago. Earl was a dedicated worker and would volunteer to help any ministry, group or committee. At Southern, Earl sang on the Senior Choir No. 2, held office of Precident at one time and sang on the SBC Mass Choir as well. He attended Bible classes, the Congress of Chritian Education Classes, Church-wide Institutes; he was Men's day Chairperson and a member of the 50th Golden Jubilee Yearbook Commitee. Earl loved to sing so he joined other choirs the Fellowship of Love Choir, the Halleluiah Coral Ensemble, the Pauline Wells Lewis Choir, James Cloveland Workshop Choir and attended all out of town James Cloverland workshops. Earl was a culinary expert. He loved to cook. He was not selfish when it came to sharing his meals with others. Earl hosted many dinners as well as weekly feasts at his home for himself and for others. Earl loved seeing friends enjoy his cruise! Earl loved to have fun and we enjoyed the funny side of him. He was a kindhearted and giving person. It was a kindhearted and giving person. It was a pleasure to know him and he will certainly be missed by those who knew him. This day will forever be engraved in our hearts. Earl was preceded in death by his parents and his his brother, John. Earl leaves to cherish his memory: eight siblings; Steven, Helen (Charence), Dorothea, James, Richard (Kathy), Kareem, Keith (Dametralius), Sheila; and a host of nieces, nephews, some cousins and many friends.
