Dorothy G. McMichael

On Tuesday, May 24, 2011, God sent his heavenly Angels down to bring his daughter, Dorothy home. DOROTHY GEORGETTE McMICHAEL “Georgie” was born on August 27, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland to Bernice Payne-Gray and the late George McMicheal. Dorothy first received her Christian education at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. She later received Christ and was baptized by Douglass Wilson, former Pastor of Fulton Baptist Church. Dorothy, also known as “Georgie,” “Georette,” or “Dot,” received her education through the Baltimore City Public School System, graduating from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in 1975. She received her Associate of Arts Degree in Business Management from Strayer University where she was on the Dean’s List. Dot was employed by the State of Maryland, Department of children, Youth and Families/Special Education for eighteen years. She also served in the U.S. Army National Guard for seventeen years as a Staff Sergeant. Georgie had a passion for math. She was multi-talented, excelling in everything she did. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, shopping and cooking for her family and friends. Georgie’s handbags and matching shoes, were a “must!” she loved spending quality time with her grandchildren, and her one son, Dom. She loved family gatherings, traveling, having fun and loving life. Georgie was greatly loved and admired by all of her family and friends for her loyalty, dedication, strength, and hard work. We will miss Georgie’s style and grace and Sunday dinners she so lovingly prepared. Her physical presence will be missed by all of us. Georgie leaves to cherish wonderful memories, her mother, Bernice Payne-Gray. Her son, Dominic A. Little, Sr. Daughter-in-law, Shaneika. Four grandchildren: S’Sense, Tytiana, Sharlotte and Dominic Jr. Sister: Brenda, Justine, Leverne, Yvonne, Maxine, Lisa, Yvonne, Yvette, and Joyce. Brothers: Danny, Ricky, Ronald, Arnold, and Anthony. Her life partner, Andrew Miller Jr. Three aunts: Eleanor, Margaret and Barbara. Three uncles: William, Lawrence and Kenny. Four sister-in-law; four brother-in-law; mother-in-law, Joeann Miller. Eight nieces; nine nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Georgie was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Warren and two sisters, Deborah and Charlotte.
