Be strong and of good courage, “Fear not, nor be afraid of them: For the Lord Thy God, He it is that doth go with thee, He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”Dormaine Dynette Carter, daughter of the late Pearl Carter and Neptune Clark, was born on April 12, 1965 in Baltimore, Maryland. God called her home on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 after a lengthy illness.June of 1983 she graduated from Eastern High School in Baltimore, Maryland. Dormaine continued her education in the field of nursing. She successfully completed the course of study with the PTC Career Institute for Geriatric Nursing in October 1985. In addition to the PTC certification she also completed the requirements for the Community College of Baltimore Geriatric Nursing Program. Equipped with these credentials she embarked upon a career with the University of Maryland Health Systems, actively pursuing her career, providing professional and compassionate care to many. Dee received numerous citations and acknowledgements from nursing management in recognition of her high standards personally and professionally in the area of patient care.Dee was a very sociable person. She enjoyed interacting with family and friends. Perhaps, some of her happier moments were shared with friends attending plays( with her friend Toni), reading novels, shopping (catalogue or in general), or just pig’ n out (especially seafood and Mama Liz’s cooking).Dormaine found God at and early age. She attended the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church with her mother regularly. Later, as an adult, she began attending Victory Ministries (under the Leadership and Guidance of Pastor Tony Smith, Founder and Pastor), with her closes nephew and friend, Ontay Hill.Honorable MentionsDee Dee especially enjoyed his special relationship with her guardian (Mother) and friend Aunt Bert of whom she spoke highly, as well as often.
