Doris Johnson Taylor

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 On April 8, 1947, our beloved Doris entered the world to Cleatus and Alberta Johnson in Siler City, North Carolina. She was the oldest of five children. She was preceded in death by her father, Cleatus Johnson and two brothers, Wayne Johnson and Michael Johnson; mother-in-law, Emma Lee Taylor and father-in-law, Henry J. Taylor. She attended schools in both North Carolina and Virginia; graduating from George Washington Carver High School in Newport News, Virginia in 1966. She attended Norfolk State University and graduated from John Tyler Community College. She worked for Holy Rosary Child Care Center for 26 years. Doris had a deep affection for children and people. Doris was loved and admired by all who knew her. She was adored for her acts of kindness, sweet demeanor and loving conversation. Her smile, her laughter and the love she had for her family was the backbone of her personality. Strong willed she made things happen. Her heart was strong, but her body was tired. We are comforted in knowing that she is in a better place and has a better life. We are so fortunate to have had her in our lives for so many years and we feel empty without her. Doris was truly a blessing from God and generated rays of loving sunshine in our house with her spirit. Because of the wonderful love she shared, she will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts. Doris leaves behind to follow her paradise her loving husband of 42 years, Henry Taylor; devoted and caring daughters, Robin Davis and Tiffany Taylor; two granddaughters, Kaylin and Kaycie Davis – “Nana Girls” as she called them; one son-in-law, Michael Davis, who was always positive and encouraging; mother, Alberta G. Johnson of Hampton, VA; sister, Barbara Anderson of Hampton, VA; brother, Larry Price of Virginia Beach, VA. She joined a family of love and friends from sisters-in-law, Eunice, Emma, Rose (Michael) and Kathleen; brothers-in-law, Robert (Mary), Ronnie (Delia) Luther (Cynthia), Mark (Pamela) and Allen (Toya); a devoted and dear friend, Candice Payne and her husband, William Payne; one dear God-daughter, Nayyir Payne; a host of caring nieces and nephews, other devoted relatives and friends. “God Bless The Battle Is Over”
