Doris C. Edmundson

On January 26, 2023, Doris Edmundson went home to be with her Heavenly Father after dealing with the death of her Husband and fighting the good fight Of her prolonged illness that took a toll on her physically. On May 30, 1942, in Baltimore Maryland Doris Catherine Hinton was born to the great late Mary Jane and Joshua Hinton from this union Joan an Doris were born. Doris being the youngest child was called (Rooster) by her Dad. She was also known by many as Ms. Doris, Mom GG, The Diva, Ms. Billie Holiday, an Queen from family and friend, and neighborhood members. Doris went to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Waverly, MD. Doris received her education from the Baltimore City Public School System. Ms. Doris met the love of her life Zebide Edmundson, Sr. in 1959 at Hooper’s Restuarant. On January 23, 1960. They were joined together in Holy Matrimony. From this marriage four beautiful and handsome children were born. In her earlier years, Doris worked at Loudon Fog Coat Manufacturer. The family never needed cleaners because Doris could put a crease in a shirt when you needed it As time went on Doris and Zeb became entrepreneurs by having their own grocery store at Fulton Avenue and Mount Street and upon closing the store, They went to opened Qwik Pick on 30th Street. They were best known for their fish subs, cheesesteak subs and wings and fries along with Qwik Pick Boutique Clothing Store in Eastpoint Mall formerly known as Independence Mall. Doris continues being an entrepreneur while raising her kids and grandkids showing them the way to become independent young adults. Mom loved her flowers and plants so much that she started working at Frank’s Nursery and Crafts. This was her last job upon retiring. During Christmas and numerous events, she loved decorating her house for her family and friends. Mom loved to sing her favorite song “ I Rather Go Blind”, “Somewhere In My Lifetime”. “I Was Born By The River”. And “Night and Day” with Mr. Zeb on her karaoke box at home, Moravia Park Drive Entertainment Hall and 3W’s on Wednesday karaoke night. The Diva had to make sure she was never fashionably late to events. Appearance meant everything to her, her outfits had to match head to toe, make sure she had a matching flower in her hair with her outfit.. The Diva loved shopping, getting her hair and nails done, playing cards, and watching reality TV shows. Preceded her in death late husband Zebide Edmundson, Sr., granddaughter Katherine Wells, aunt Margaret Butler, uncle Bobby Wells loving daughter Darlene Bolling and beautiful granddaughter Kortney Edmundson She leaves to cherish her memories he loving family: three children; Carmarmella Williams (Rodney) Zebide Edmundson, Jr. (Beverly), Isaac Edmundson I (Terry), one sister: Joan Hinton, six grandchildren; Krissy Medley (Duane), Alexander Epps (Pierre), Justin Bolling, Daisha Edmundson, Isaac Edmundson II, Isiah Edmundson, five great – grandchildren: Kamal, Jamal, Alexandria, Journee, Pierre: cousins; Beverly, William, Michael, Barbara and Joanne, nephew; Gary Riddick Sr.; Great nephew; Gary Riddick Jr.; a host of relatives and friends.
