Doris Brown

DORIS BROWN, daughter of the late Arey and Roland Moseley, was born in Pamlico County, North Carolina on February 6, 1936. After a lengthy battle with Dementia, she quietly departed from this life at her home in Catonsville, Maryland on Monday, January 9, 2023. Doris graduated from Pamlico Training School and later moved to New York, where she lived with her aunt and uncle, the late Susie and Perry Moseley. After a brief stay in New York, she returned to Pamlico County and decided to move to Baltimore City. Upon moving to Baltimore, Doris was introduced to the late Willie McCoy Jr. They were married in February1958 and were blessed with five children. After her first husband’s death,she remarried on August 30, 1983 to Clinton J. Brown.She accepted Christ at an early age while attending Broad Creek United Church of Christ in Pamlico County, North Carolina. Upon settling in Baltimore, she attended Leaden Hall Baptist Church, and later joined Calvary Baptist Church. Doris was employed at the NICU unit at Lutheran Hospital for several years and then went on to work at various companies until she retired from Murray’s Corporation.Her home was full of laughter and love. Upon entering her house, you could count on a hot meal and enjoyable conversation.Doris enjoyed watching sports, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and crafting,but more than anything she loved taking care of her plants and working in her garden. Doris leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted husband of forty years, Clinton Brown; five children, Edgar Moseley (Michelle), Gloria Bess, Stephanie McCoy, Cherrice Davis, and Roland McCoy (Danette); one stepdaughter, Donna Sanders (Maurice); one brother, Perry Moseley (one brother and two sisters preceded her in death, Allen Lee Moseley, Susie Edwards and Beulah Maynor); four sisters-in-laws ,Leartis Moseley, Emily Grayer, Patricia Clark and Angela Clark; four brothers-in-laws. Reginald Clark (Francine), Rodgers Clark, Ronnie Clark and Alonzo Clark; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren,and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
