Donald William Taylor

DONALD WILLIAM TAYLOR was born on November 9, 1946 to James Jones and Elvira Taylor. Back then things were not easy, but families pulled together and always made things work. He went to be with the Lord peacefully on June 29, 2026. He had a sister Ellis Taylor McCloud, nicknamed “Sugie,” who he adored. He also had a sister Joyce Edwards nicknamed “Bunny.” Those three grew up together with their mom always in the same household. Donald was affectionately called by his nickname “Butch.” He attended schools in Baltimore from kindergarten to the 10th grade. He stopped going to school to get a job at an early age. Most of his family members were working, so he just wanted to work too, and he did just that. He worked odd jobs until landing a job with the black-owned Parks Sausage Company, now that was very impressive to him and made him very proud to work for such a company. He worked at that company for over (30) years until he could no longer do it. Donald joined Greater Harvest Baptist Church, then under the leadership of Rev. Erroll D. Gilliard. He was baptized by Rev. Gilliard and attended that church for a short time. Donald (Butch) was always known for the way that he dressed. He never went anywhere at anytime not looking presentable. He always stood out for being jazzy and was known for his caps and dress hats. Everything had to be matching and in place from head to toe. Donald married his first sweetheart Christine, and from that marriage came his two sons, Donald Taylor Jr. and Carlos Taylor. After years of that union they got divorced in good friendship. Now after many years of being (out-there) ripping and running the streets of Baltimore enjoying life, he was finally ready to settle down. Guess what?, “God did.” He sent Ms. Diane to settle down with him, because she was also tired of ripping and running. He always had a friendship with Diane because they grew up in the same neighborhood, and were friends when they were young. Even after they became adults their friendship always remained the same, no more no less. After the death of both of their many family members, they started leaning on each other in 2004 for much-needed comfort and strength. They became closer and closer, and in 2007 they got married. They took a few trips after their marriage, and would go out to affairs always dressed up and looking good. Things did tone down, and they both enjoyed each other’s cooking and company. They enjoyed listening to old songs from back in their time, and watching all the sports, especially football and they both loved the Ravens. Donald leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Diane; two sons, Donald Jr. “Spanky” and Carlos; sister, Joyce; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; two special cousins, Sharon and Junior; special friend, Moses; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, family members and many friends.
