Diane Williams

On Wednesday, the 27th of January 2021, our beloved DIANE WILLIAMS departed this earth to ascend to her heavenly home. Diane was born in Meridian, Mississippi on March 3, 1953 to the late Ralph Simmons and Ora Dee Hardin. Diane was the oldest of two children and is survived by her sister Gloria Daniels. She graduated from Hope High School in Providence, Rhode Island where she lived before moving to Baltimore in 1987. Diane met her dear husband of 20 years, Wallace Williams, in Baltimore, Maryland, where they purchased a ome in the neighborhood of Baltimore County. Diane was a devout Christian and was a member of Wayside Baptist Church in Baltimore City. She enjoyed helping/volunteering to transport church members to and from church. Diane suffered from sarcoidosis early in life and fought hard against this disease. Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease that affects multiple organs in the body, but mostly the lungs and lymph glands. Diane was blessed with two daughters: Cynthia Black of Odenton, MD and Felicia Poland of Greensboro, NC whom she cherished with all her heart. Diane was a dedicated, kind, loving, and strong beautiful woman whose discernment for people in need was undeniable. She worked as a Dental Claims Adjuster at Blue Cross and Blue Shield for 8 years, and she retired as an Unemployment Claims Adjuster after dedicating 28 years with the State of Maryland. Diane loved visiting her sister, traveling, socializing with her friends and family, and always enjoyed some good soul food or eating crabs at a seasonal crab feast at Martin’s West or the Fish Market in DC, to name a few. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Wallace Williams; sister and brother-in-law, Bill and Gloria Daniels; sister-in-law, Birdie Stokes; daughters, Cynthia Dionne Black and Felicia Lorraine Poland; children through marriage, Maria A. (Lisa) Williams, Katine Ann Johnson, and Kenny D. Johnson Sr; grandchildren, Kirsten Diane and Keshaun Dwight Sloan, Andre Zorian Washington, Chelsey Raysean Wortham, Thomas Gerald Poland Jr. (deceased),Thomas Gerald Poland III, Thomas Gerald Poland IV, and Craig James Clark; great-grandchildren, Kenny D. Johnson Jr., Anaree Summers, Aliya Summers, and Jayden Sincere Poland; and a host of other relatives and friends. Although Diane is not physically here on earth, she will live forever in our hearts and eternally in heaven….Until we meet again.
