Evangelist Diane Coleman Gordon

Evangelist Diane Coleman Gordon,entered into eternal rest on Sunday,January 30,2011. Born in Richmond,Virginia on June 21,1947,she was the second child of seven siblings to Ivory L. and Mae Frances Coleman,both of whom have already made their life transition. Diane received her early education in the Washington D.C. Public School System,graduating from Dunbar High School Class of 1966. Shortly after high school,she was a fashion model and later joined the staff of Philip Morris,and remained in their employ for twenty-seven years. Diane was true humanitarian,her passion for people fueled her desire to work with elderly and disabled citizens as she obtained employment as a caregiver. At a young age,Diane accepted Christ.Later in life joined Solomon's Temple in Richmond,Virginia. She was a virtuous woman who respected and feared God. In 2008 she was ordained as an Evangelist at the Temple of God in Christ. Evangelism gave her great joy as she possessed an unwavering love for God and a fierce desire to save souls for Christ. Throughout her journey of evangelism,she taught Bible Study in nursing homes,assisted living and correctional facilities. Out of love for the theatre,she produced,recreated and directed the play" The 7 Voices" that was performed throughout the Richmond area. Diane's passions were cooking,shopping,traveling,caring for animals and sharing times with family and friends. Anyone who has come in contact with Diane has not only experienced her inner strength but her love for mankind. She was loving and straight-forward individual who never sugar coated anything. She possessed a style that embodied glamour,sophistication and poise at all times. Diane touched many lives along her journey and she will be fondly remembered for her virtuous,kindhearted and genuine nature. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter,Brittney A. Vanzego.To cherish fond memories she leaves two daughters,Tonya Vanzego(Jerome) and Kelly Peay-Boston(Calvin);four grandchildren,Chanel and Keion Vanzego,Tory Goode and Essence Boston;one great grandchild,Keona Vanzego;Goddaughter,Brianna Oliver;three sisters,Bertha Baskervile,Shelia Golden and Jean Coleman;three brothers,Ivory L. Coleman,Jr.,Clemento Coleman"Mento",and Darryl Coleman;a host of niees and nephews,cousins,other relatives and devoted friends.
