Demell V. Warren

Demell Uself Warren, affectionately known as “Mel,” was born on December 8, 1984, in Baltimore, Maryland. With his radiant spirit and deep love for family and friends, Mel brought joy and light to every space he entered. On September 9, 2025, Mel peacefully and unexpectedly passed away at home. While his passing was sudden, Demell had courageously battled genetic heart failure for the past 10 years. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Raised by his devoted mother, Gwen Jackson, Demell shared with her an unbreakable bond built on love, respect, and true friendship. He also grew up alongside his older brother, Andre, with whom he shared a closeness that was evident to all who knew them. Demell received his education through the Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Edmondson High School. He later continued his studies at Essex Community College, where he pursued psychology and earned his Associate of Arts degree. Guided by his passion for counseling and helping others, Demell dedicated his career to serving people with compassion and patience. He first worked as a mobility driver assisting the elderly and disabled, before building a long career as a mental health counselor at Sheppard Pratt. Most recently, he continued his calling as a counselor at Beyond Healthcare Association. Outside of work, Demell lived life to the fullest. He was deeply social, with countless friends who became like family. Many of his fondest memories were made at his favorite lounge, where he spent nights laughing and playing spades until sunrise. He loved traveling, discovering new restaurants, attending the hottest events in Baltimore, and of course, wearing the best cologne. His unforgettable scent, much like his presence, will forever linger in the hearts of those who knew him. Mel was known for his sharp wit, hilarious jokes, and his ability to brighten any room, but just as importantly, he was deeply loyal and trustworthy to everyone who had the blessing of knowing him. Demell was preceded in death by his grandmothers: Shirley Tubman, Ann Jackson, and Dorothy Jackson; Uncles: Ali and Deray; Aunts: Sister and Puddin. Demell leaves behind to cherish his memories: his Beloved Mother Gwen Jackson; Brother: Andre Elijah Warren(Ayanna); Father: Andre Warren; Uncles: Moonie, June, and Brother; Godfather: Herb; Four nieces: Arianna, Eliyah, Anala, and Ariah; One nephew: Andre Jr.; God-sisters: Staci, Meka, Nikki, Keia, Racquel, April, Karen, Key, Fannie, Lexus and Wendy; God-brothers: Korey and Lil Moonie, along with a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones. His presence will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will forever shine brightly in the lives he touched.
