Delores Linton

Delores Linton was born on May 13, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late John Alfred Makel, Sr. and Estelle Makel. She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System at Douglas High School. She was married to Leo Linton, Sr. and from that union five children were born. Delores continued with her life and bore an additional two children. She went to join her mother, father, sister, Carolyn Makel and daughter, Delores Gertrude Linton, on August 24, 2001. Delores was affectionately known as “Ma, Grandma and Mommy”. Approximately in 1968, she began as a Volunteer worker for the Baltimore City Public School System as a Student Lunch Aide and Teacher Aide. She enjoyed working with children and touch their lives. She inspired children through her boundless energy and marvelous spirit. Often times many student returned praising her for her guidance she gave while at Sinclair Lane Elementary School. During her tenure at Sinclair Lane, she became a para Professional on September 8, 1970. She was a dependable and reliable person, never missing a day from work. She truly enjoyed serving the public and caring for those children who were away from their homes. Delores looked forward to Participating in the community and being actively involved in social affairs. She was a member of the Mother Club, Treasure of Claremont Community, Bingo, Flea Markets, Recreation Center trips, After School Programs,etc.... Delores loved cooking and shopping. Everyone loved her cooking. She showed her love through hommade recipes and often shared her famous dishes with family and friends. Delores was very special and always showed that in the hearts of many. She loved giving. In fact, she created her own Christmas Holiday in January. On Christmas Day everyone enjoyed being with their families, but Delores wanted more. She made January her Christmas Day and ensued that every grandchild and her children would receive a gift personally from her on January's Christmas. She loved other children so much that she watched her co-workers children, neighborhood kids and anyone else who needed help. She extended her helping hand to everyone. Delores personality can be described as strong-willed, determined, loving caring and very dependable. Mamma confessed her life to Christ in the mid 1970's with the Seventh Day Adventist Church and rededication he life with the Berean Baptist Church earlier this year. She loved to read scriptures, listen to gospel music and have words of prayer. Her four generation legacy (May 13th ) will continue to be celebrated by her niece( Ursula Dorsey) and her great nephews (Torian Kent). Delores leaves to cherish her memory: her six Children, Lisa Leo, Denise, Dwayne, Sha'Donna and Dovon; three sisters, Sandra, Barbara and Joyce; one brother, John; tow daughters-in-law, Jeneice and Zena; one son-in-law, Don,Sr.; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren ; one uncle, Leon; two aunts, Margaret and Cathy and a host of relative and friends.
