Delbert Arthur Williams

Delbert Williams son of the late Lylia and Joseph Crew, Delbert was born on June 15, 1936 in Greensville, North Carolina. Delbert peacefully made the transition from this life in answer to God's call on January 1, 2023. Delbert was Baptized at an early age and attended Community Baptist Church in the Pumphrey community. Delbert was educated in the Baltimore City and Anne Arundel County School System Delbert graduated from the historic Wiley Bates High School in Annapolis, MD, in 1955. He was a star football player, he was a quarterback, running back, and kicker. He was also on the basketball team and cross country runner on the track team. Delbert's art talent earned him an Art Scholarship to Morgan State College, now Morgan State University. Delbert married the late Ella Grace Campbell, from this union Derek and Rodney were born, Andre and Debra preceded Delbert in death. One other daughter Theila Holmes also preceded Delbert in Death. Delbert married Jean on July 6, 1963, from this union, Derek and Rodney were born. Delbert loved gardening, old cars, all sports (especially the Orioles and Ravens), traveling, eating crabs and old music. Delbert inspired our granddaughter and neighbor to grow a vegetable garden. Delbert was a member of the Carpet Knights Social Club, Lost in 1950's Custom Auto of Maryland and Old Cars Unlimited of Washington, D.C. Delbert was employed by Nevamar Corporation. He gradually moved up in the company and got to use his art talent and has a decorative laminate patent. Delbert became a Customer Service Representative and retire from the company after 40 years of service. Delbert made may friends inside and outside the company. Delbert was loved by all and will truly be missed. He had a personality that warmed the hearts of those he met and had a radiant smile, which would spread much sunshine and won him many friends and acquaintances. Delbert leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Jean, Sons, Derek and Rodney, Grandchildren, Shalisa, Chambliss (Jerry Sr.) Ebony Brown (Reginald Sr.), Phaedra Durocher, (Ryan) Tehra Williams, Taij Williams, Robert Tuner, Joshua Turner, and Dominique Turner, Great grandchildren; Jerry Jr.,(Deborah), Joshuah Chambliss, Zi Aya Brown, Serenity Brown,Reginald Brown,Jr., Great great granddaughter Zyanah, Brothers Joseph Crews, Jr.,Howard Crews,(Lora), Sisters Vanessa Johnson ,Blanche Sutton and Linda Montgomery (preceded him in death) brothers James Sutton and Rudolph Crews (preceded him in death), Son-in-law, Robert Turner ,Sr., Sister in laws, Joann, Helen Crews and Vivian Johnson, Sister in laws, Darlene Crews, Mae Ellen Crews and Sarah Green (preceded him in death) Special friend Delmus Simmons, Special cousin John Hunter (Sylvia) a host of other relatives and friends.
