Deborah Smith Frazier

Deborah Smith Frazier,fondly known by her infectious smile,triumphantly won her race on Thursday,October 8, 2009. Her journey began on August 28, 1953 in Goochland,Virginia by her loving parents,Raymond T. and Evelyn J. Smith.At an early age her Christian relationship began by joining the Evergreen Baptist Church in Manakin,Virginia until her relocation to the Varina area where her walk continued at Antioch Baptist Church.While attending Hermitage High School,where she was a graduate of the class of 1972,Deborah developed a passion for caring and attending to the needs of others. Through her career in nursing upon graduating from St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1973,she was certified by the State of Virginia Board of Nursing as a licensed practical nurse(LPN). Her nursing credentials and desires expanded into the arenas of hospitals,nursing homes,corrections,and finally occupational health facilities. She was a nurse for over thirty years.She was formely married to David Frazier and from this union the blessing of a daughter,Tamara(Tammy)C.Frazier was born. Later in life came another blessing with the birth of a granddaughter,Marcasia,who affectionately called her MiMi Both Tammy and Marcasia were the center of Deborah's joy.Deborah also enjoyed traveling,fine dining,and spending time with family and friends and her pet poodle,BoBo. Her reward for long hours and hard work was to indulge herself in spa pampering. Declining health prevented her from participating in the activities she had grown to love.Her loving memory will be cherished by a devoted daughter, Tamara (Tammy)C. Frazier; a precious granddaughter Marcasia Frazier; a loving son at heart, John "Wink" Wilkerson Jr.; compassionate parents, Raymond T. and Evelyn J. Smith; two beloved sisters,Sheron Otey,and Jerilyn Smith-Lundy;two brothers-in-law,M. Edward Otey and Leroy Lunday,a loyal niece LaTeka Otey;two special nephews, IS2 Edjuan Otey,and Antoine Lundy; a great-nephew,Antoine Lundy,Jr.; former husband and friend,David Frazier,four aunts and five uncles;,Annie Owens(Thomas),Mary Jefferson(Ellis,Sr.),Linherst Smith(Lillian),Virginia Smith,Lawrence Dandridge,Sr. and Stanley Doiley of Maryland;one great aunt,Romaine Carlisle of Enfield,NC,numerous cousins among them six devoted,Justine and Robbie Allen,Diane Briggs,Lawrence Dandridge,Jr. of New Jersey and Cecil and Johnetta Jones;and a host of other relatives and friends.
