Deborah Christian

Deborah Ann Christian, daughter to the late John E. Christian and Jean L. Hearn was born on October 20, 1959, in Baltimore City Maryland. She was educated in the Baltimore City School Systems starting 122 elementary located on Preston Street, Booker T. Washington Middle School, Frederick Douglass High where she performed as a majorette as a Douglass Duck in the Douglass High School band. Lastly, she attended Forest Park High where she graduated. She later attended PTC and became a geriatric aide, helping and caring for the elderly. Deborah had a great gift of love and caring for the children. She loved them and they loved her back; they enjoyed spending time together. In fact, her great nieces and great nephews called her “Grandma” and “my friend.” Not only did she love children she also loved people; she impacted all of those around her with love, laughter and generosity. One of her passions was to crochet hats and scarves; she had all colors and patterns. She had one for everyone in the family. A smile and warmth was common to Deborah; she was always appreciative of the time one spent with her whether it was an adult or child and often bragged to her daughter about her visits. Her home was a refuge for others to come for rest, relaxation, escape of mundane life, she offered emotional support, but most of all love. One did not have to sugar coat their feelings with her; one could bare their soul without judgment or criticism. If she could help you, she would without question. Deborah’s proudest accomplishment in this life is the relationship she had with her children. She had six siblings that preceded her in death: Barbara Christian-Smith, John E. Christian, Jr., Charles Christian, Tyrone Christian, Linda Christian-Veney and Myra squire. She leaves to cherish her memory: Wardell Ervin, Sr., Wardell Ervin, Jr., and Dezmon Ervin; one daughter, Tiffany Ervin-Bailey; two sisters, Roslyn Christian-Snyder and Rosetta Squire; one daughter-in-law, Naquita Ervin; one son-in-law, Anthony Bailey, Sr.; seven grandchildren, Natae Alleyne, Paul Christopher Alleyne, Anthony Bailey, Jr., Jawuan Bailey, Jakiya Ervin, Tiffany Ervin and Denique Ervin; extended grandchildren, Tyjae, Danaeja, Jalyn, Savion, Arion, Heaven and Antione, Jr.; two brothers-in-law, John Veney and Coyet Sydnor, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and other relatives and friends. Her special friends, Calvin McKessin, Ms. Audrey, Derrick, Kia and Barbara.
