It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone-For a part of us went with you the moment God took you home. The golden gates stood open and God saw you needed rest- Gods garden must be beautiful for he always picks the best.Deborah Alston daughter of the late Edward J. Alston and Dorcas Elizabeth Alston was born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 12th 1951. Debbie attended Gillis Memorial CC church at an early age. Debbie was educated in the Baltimore School System. In 1971 she received he degree in Social Work from the Community College of Baltimore. She also received her BSN in Nursing from the University of Maryland. She went on to specialize in Psychiatry and Genetic Nursing. She was employed as a Patient Care Nurse Manager for John Hopkins Bayview. Debbie had many interests such as alternative medicine, yoga, herbal and massage therapies. She enjoyed photography and all forms of music. Debbie loved people, especially the children. She loved her nieces and nephews and was always doing special things for everyone. Debbie would always make sure everyone had a birthday party on their birthday and made sure that everyone would get and education. Debbie had many special friends and loved them all. Her favorite hymns were Blessed Assurance and I Won’t Complain. Her favorite scriptures were the Psalms, 5, 27 and 100. Debbie leaves to mourn, a devoted mother, Dorcas Elizabeth Alston, four sisters, Gay, Kay, Monica Alston and Keeba A. Brown; three brothers, Eric A. Alston, Anthony Alston, Theodore C. Alston, two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews a host of relatives and friends.You may wonder why I went awayAnd failed to say goodbyeI couldn’t bear to tell youFor it upsets me when you cry.My ship came in early And it was beautiful to seeFor the Captain was King Jesus And He softly beckoned meI hurried through the portalFell humbly ah His feetHe gently took me in his arms And now all is completeLovingly submitted,The Family A Mother’s LoveA Mother’ Love is something that no one can explain,It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and painIt is endless and unselfish and enduring come what mayFor nothing can destroy it or take that love away…It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsakingAnd it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking.And another wondrous evidence of God’s tender guiding hand.I will always love and remember you.Your Mother,Dorcas
