Davon Stokes

Davon Stokes, son of Shawnte Surles and Levon Christopher Stokes was born on November 25, 1993 in Baltimore, Maryland. He suddenly departed this life on December 13, 2015. He received his education at Harford Heights Elementary School, Booker T. Washington Middle and Edmondson High School. He later furthered his education at Anne Arundel Community College, BCCC and Stratford University. While still in college he also worked for JC Penny and later Food King Market. Davon was a dedicated and active member of Mercy Seat Outreach Church of God. At an early age Davon dedicated his life to God and he truly loved the Lord. Davon a.k.a. “Nummie” made numerous friends wherever he went and was a gentle kind hearted person. All who knew him loved him. He always greeted you with a smile and would light up the atmosphere wherever he went with his loving spirit. He was known to be very respectful and humble. Davon had a passion for cooking with cookies and cakes being his favorite things to make and he loved going to the gym with his running partner “Pebbles”. He also loved to spend time laughing with his family and friends. Davon had a very outgoing spirit and would always enjoy going out to eat with his grandmother, family and friends. He loved to imitate the people he admired. You could always count on “Nummie” if you needed him. It was a pleasure to be in his presence. Nummie was a caring, thoughtful and loving person who would help anyone out at no cost. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and loved to travel whenever he had the opportunity. He leaves to forever cherish his memory, his loving parents Shawnte Surles, Levon Christopher Stokes Sr. and stepmother Kimberly Alexander Stokes, one great-grandmother Ella Demby, two grandmothers Judy Johnson and Peggy Demby, two grandfathers Mert Howard Stokes and Robert Johnson Sr. (preceded him in death). Sisters Brionna and Alexis; his brothers Tavon, Keon, Datwan and Levon; great aunts- Daisey, Elizabeth, Eve, Bernice, Diane, Viola and Mary; great uncles- Leon, Willie, Charles and Leon Bowie; aunts- LaWayne, Arnell, Shamon; uncles- Andre, Terrance, Maurice, Antmo, Robert Jr. and Kenneth( preceded him in death). Also he leaves to cherish his memory to his extended family Jeanette Daniel and Lorell Talley who he called “Aunt Jeanette” and “Aunt Lorell” and a host of cousins, family and friends.
