David Wilson

David J. Wilson affectionately known as “Bones, Potoe and Uncle David”, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 13, 1950, to his loving parents, the late Albertine T. Carter, and the late Roosevelt James Wilson. On October 8, 2022, David’s spirit separated from his early body and returned home to be with the Lord. David was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system his Christian journey started at a very young age whereby he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He was a disciple of New Saint Mark Baptist Church, Baltimore, Maryland under the leadership of the late Rev. Isaac J. Gilliam David was well-loved and known by many in the areas he frequents on North Avenue. And West Baltimore as well as other parts of Baltimore. He made friends easily because of his loving demeanor. He was a person we have all come to love and cherish. David had a uniqueness of himself as described by the adjectives., caring, humorous, thankful, storyteller. And dancer with family and friends. He was a kind-hearted giver to any and anyone. In his past time, David loved to listen to the oldie music, sing and dance. Whenever there was an opportunity David would always cut a jig…dancing. He also loved to watch westerns, various sports football, and basketball, and help his youngest sister Rachel do yard work. To know him was to love him…David was a marathon walker. He always Preferred to walk anywhere anytime vs. getting transportation. He loved hanging out with family and friends and never wanted to stay in the house. David had a special saying he would say to his family… “I need thee “which meant if you had $2.00 to spare. He would laugh and thought that expression was the funniest. On Saturday, October 8, 2022, God dispatched an angel and closed the “Book of Life on David J. Wilson.” to depart from his earthly body to be present with his heavenly Father. David has transitioned from Labor to reward. He was preceded in death by his mother and father the Roosevelt James Wilson and Albertine T. Carter and his brother Robert T. Carter, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories; six sisters, Brenda Muse, Joan Torrence (Sammy), Gwendolyn Scovens (Thomas), Annette Crowell, Claudette Hipkins (Patrick), Rachel Foster (John); one brother, Kermit Taylor, Jr. (Erma). He also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, and a host of other relatives and adopted family members along the way…. We miss not to say so long, or goodbye, we will simply say, until we meet again David! Tremendously missed! Your Life was a Blessing, your Memory a Treasure, and You are loved Beyond Words and Missed Beyond Measure.
