David Pulley

DAVID PAUL PULLEY, son of the late William Pulley and Juanita E. Dickerson, was born on July 7, 1939. He suddenly departed this life on November 10, 2016 at Union Memorial Hospital. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, David went to live in Pennsylvania at a young age. He lived in Pennsylvania until the age of 25 when his 21 year old brother, Stephen, brought him back home to Baltimore to live with him. Once back in Baltimore, David's first job was at Old Town Tailors, where he worked for 10 years. He later went on to work with Steve as a dedicated employee at Model Clothes Store for 20 years. When the store closed, David explored several adult activity centers, but it wasn't until he attended Active Day Care Center in Baltimore County several years ago that he found a place he truly loved. David was happy there and eager to get on the bus every day he could. He loved the staff there, and they loved him. He learned many certificates for his spirited participation in center activities, being sure to win his “Active Day Dollars.” David especially enjoyed working on arts and crafts projects and enthusiastically showed them off! Staff and center community members also looked forward to David always being a very willing participant in the center's fashion shows and pajama parties. You could always count him in! David, also known as “Bow-legged”, “Pauley”, “Brotha Dave”, was also often the “life of the party” with his family. David enjoyed going on trips, going to cookouts and birthday parties to celebrate the people who shared in his life. Most times, if there was music, you would find David on the dance floor. Those who knew him will always remember how much he really loved going out to eat, and how much he looked forward to going out to dinner every Sunday. David touched the lives of all who were blessed to be around him. He had lots of friends and he was especially devoted to “my brotha Steve.” Actually, they were devoted to each other. Everyone knew to not say anything negative about Steve or expect to get the wrath of Dave's quick and sharp tongue. After a short illness, he would often say “I'm carrying my own weight.” David, God's got you now! David is preceded in death by: his brother, William Pulley and nephew, Ronald Pulley. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his siblings, Stephen Pinnick, Sr. (Denise), Sharon Dickerson-Greene (James), Bernadett Carson, Sondra Daniels (Marvin), James (Deborah), Kenneth Pulley (Melody), Diane Robinson (Anthony), Renee Atkinson (William), Kevin Pulley (Sharee), Keith Pulley; nieces, Alicia Thomas, Yvonne Henry, Karen, Tracey, Sandra Pulley and Melissa; nephews, Wayne, Irving (Sheila) and Darryl Thomas, Stephen Jr., Erick Pinnick, Kevin Pollack, Bryan Dickerson, Andre Pulley, Kirtlen Johnson; great-nieces and nephews, Alicia “Too” Thomas, Shannon Jones, Melanie Jeffries, Ryan Thomas, Miles and Hunter Gregory, Trevon, Amari, Meagan, and Zemyra Johnson; and many other relatives and friends. David had a special friend and family he loved: Sondra, Ronald, Donald, Marvin and Tyrell, Dion, Andre, Eddie and Lee.
