David L. Baskin

David Lewis Baskin, Jr., son of Davis Sr. and Brenda Baskin, was born on July 2, 1984. On July 3, 2002, God came down to claim another angel. Davis was educated in the Baltimore City and Baltimore County public school systems. He attended Govans Elementary School, Southwest Academy, and Woodlawn High School. At the time of his death he was taking summer classes at Catonsville High School. At the age of seven, Davis started taking karate classes. H e received a yellow belt in karate, and was awarded some trophies. His passion for the art developed, as he grew older. David accepted God as his Personal Savior and was baptized in Jesus’ name on Sunday November 18, 2001 at the Church of the Redeemed of the Lord under the leadership of Bishop Jerome Stokes. David Baskin was artistically inclined. He was also called a computer expert. His first joy with a computer was the Atari game system. Anything that came after the Atari, David mastered it, and was always looking for a challenge when it came to computers. His love for music was beyond his years. He developed the love for all kinds of music, especially rap. A group formed naming themselves “Furilla.” A demo has been made for the future release of the group’s first CD. The love he had for his family and friends was beyond measure. Davis would do anything for anybody. He was a brother to his siblings as well as the other neighborhood children. He loved people and people loved him. Chick-o-sticks, green apple suckers, banana pudding and strawberry-kiwi soda were his favorite snacks, and if you knew Davis, you could bet on him wearing something red.
