David J. Scott

David Jerome Scott, son of Fannie Scott-Streat and the late Prue D. Scott, was born on November 18, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland. On December 28, 2006, David got his wings and took his celestial flight to glory.David was affectionately known by his family as “Clean” and “Uncle D.”He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. At a young age, David accepted the Lord and was baptized at the Pleasant Zion Baptist Church, Baltimore County. From his youth he loved music and big trucks. His love for music lead him to playing the bass guitar for the “Five Stars Gospel Singers” of Baltimore, Maryland. His love for big trucks lead him to being owner operator of his own tractor trailers. David would work around those trucks day and night. He carried on the legacy of his father.David married his childhood sweetheart, Theresa Seivers (Peachie) and born from this union was one son, Divade. He was a strong, hard working, no nonsense kind of person, who loved his family very much, especially his wife, son and grandchildren, Lil Divade and Maya. Not only did he provide for them but anyone who needed something, he would go out of his way to lend a helping hand. Uncle “D” as he was known by many especially his nieces and nephews loved him very much and he loved them too. David knew the Lord and loved listening to his gospel music. Up and down the highway he’d listen to his favorite group, The Canton Spirituals. His favorite hymn was “The Old Rugged Cross.” David was a soldier and fought his fight until the very end.He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Theresa Scott; son, Divade Z. Scott; two grandchildren, Divade Z. Scott, II and Maya K. Scott; mother, Fannie Scott-Streat; stepfather, Carlie Streat; brother, Thomas Scott; two sisters, Deborah Scott and JoAnn Scott; four sisters-in-law, Thelma Scott, Diane Wynn, Loretta Eggleston and Karen Seivers; four brothers-in-law, Stanley Seivers, Kenneth Seivers, David Wynn and Jerome Eggleston; godchild, Kezley Lighty; eight aunts, three uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.David may be out of our sight, but never, will he be out of our hearts.
