David Francis Miller

David Francis Miller, the third son of the late Clarence and Frances Miller, was born on April 15, 1949. He was suddenly called to rest on Tuesday, May 13, 2003.Affectionately remembered as “Baby”, he completed his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. He graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in 1968. He furthered his education at the Department of health and Mental Hygiene and the Community College of Baltimore, where he received he certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse on August 17, 1979. He worked for the State of Maryland for thirty-three (33) years. He was employed at Spring Grove Hospital Center, Crownsville Hospital, Walter P. Carter Center and finally Spring Grove Hospital. He enjoyed working at the hospital and his care for his patients was top priority. He received numerous awards and citations during his employment. He presently served as President of the MCEA Chapter #9 at Spring Grove Hospital.He received his early religious training as a Jehovah’s witness and he was baptized in 1975. He was active until his school and work schedule prevented him from attending.He met Patricia (Pat) Brown in September 1968. On January 10, 1970, they were united in Holy Matrimony. From this union two children were born-David Allen and Patrice Danielle. He was a loving; generous, caring, family oriented man. He did everything he could for his family and acted as a surrogate father for his children’s friends. He was fun loving and always had a joke to tell. There are no words to express the exceptional love that had for his family and his extended family. He loved to cook and will always be remembered for his famous romantic dinners, barbecued ribs (even in the snow) and fried shrimp.David made numerous friends wherever he went. Everyone who knew him will sincerely miss him. His father, Clarence Miller and brothers, Clarence and Thomas Miller preceded him in death.Precious memories of his life will be cherished by his loving wife, Patricia; his son, David; daughter, Patrice; daughter-in-law, Nicole; mother, Frances Miller; sisters, Maryce Willis, Frances Waddell and Francine Adams; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Waddell and Keith Adams; mother-in-law, Alice Cato; father-in-law, James Cato; sisters-in-law, Denise Cato, Darlene Cato, Donna Jones, Darlene Broadhurst, Christine Brown, Rita Brown and Donna Cato; brothers-in-law, Duane Cato and Richard Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.HONEY, I cannot express the emptiness I feel now that you are gone. As I think of the great times we’ve had, I will always cherish these memories in my heart. I thank God for sending you to me and I will always love you.Lovingly, PatDADDY, there are no words to express how much I loved you. You were my buddy and best friend. I remember your laugh, smile, funny noises, hilarious stories and our many trips to “our” theatre. You will always be in my heart and I thank God for sending me the best daddy in the world.
