DaVaughn Lemell Argro Kidd

Davaughn Lemell Argro Kidd had the privilege of being called to join God’s Army of soldiers on August 13, 2016. Vaughn, as he is fondly called, leaves to cherish his memory his adoring daughter, Angel Kidd, his loving mother, Wilma Kidd, his faithful grandmother, Gladys Kidd, his mentoring father, Ephraim Brown, his playful god sisters, Meghan and Morgan Brown, and his “other”mother,Franchon Brown, aunts and uncles,Pam,Rusty,Woogie,Lucy,Michelle,Shelia,Fonda,Frank(Jerilyn),Jamene,and a host of cousins, and other relatives and including devoted “brothers” Jamey Kidd,Tyree Somerville, Alex Coles; devoted “sisters” Jineka Coverton and NaToni Miller; his special friend and mother of his child, Jamie Childress, and his lifetime, devoted friend,Shikena Ruffin. Devaughn was born on February 26, 1985, a rambunctious, mischievous “Dennis the Mennis” type baby. Growing up, he was a fun loving boy who accepted Christ as his Savior at a very young age at Good Shepard Baptist Church and later joined St. Paul’s Baptist Church. He attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School and graduated from Varina High School. Vaughn was a passionate sportsman. At the spirited age of three (3) he played YMCA soccer and moved on to t-ball then baseball. With a 356 batting average, he was a powerful force on the field. From rec ball to school ball, his passion extended to gridiron as football became his sport of choice. Any Cowboys in the house, and blue and white brothers and sisters? Yes, Vaughn was a lover of The Boys! To know Vaughn, was to know a true champion for justice because he believed everyone deserved fairness, equality and second chances, that there are no perfect people, just people to love. He was a prankster, opinionated, and in the words of his friends and his mother “he always had something to say.” But nowhere and in no way was he a stronger fighter than in his relationship with his daughter, his bud, his “stinka butt or as his daughter Angel would say, his best friend.” From life lessons like teaching her patience by watching seeds grow into flowers, to being known as the cheerleader dad who would take her into the ladies room to comb hair, change clothes, or just to wipe away her tears. Vaughn was also a loving son and had a beautiful relationship with his mother. She will always love him for being him, for being her son, and for sometimes having more faith in her than she had in herself. She was his “scaredy-cat” and so promises to work on her fear of storms, bugs and suspense movies. Vaughn was well loved by all and will be missed for his upbeat messages,crazy,jokes,and just plain talking about people...but in a good way. "Love to all,keep the faith,and always remember me."
