Darvin Larrell Jones

Darvin Larrell Jones, son of Phillip Jones, Jr. and Yolando Jones-Parker, was born on May 12, 1990. He departed this life suddenly on July 26, 2009.He received his education from the Baltimore City Public School System. Darvin experienced the work force at an early age doing summer job programs at his elementary school. He was later employed by Popeye’s, on of his favorite places to dine and boy could he dine—Especially on Cream of Wheat, oatmeal, biscuits and salmon cakes.If you were ever given the special opportunity to really get to know Darvin, affectionally known as Deejay, then you have had the biggest laugh of your life. He was very playful and funny like his father. He enjoyed being in the company of his family and was always willing to help in any way he could. He loved to play video games with his little brother Davon, best cousin Terrance and with his closet friends. Outside of Football, Boxing, and riding his dirt bike he loved his dogs- his first Jordan and then Ms. Wiggles, know as Lady.Darvin always wanted to go to parties and as soon as he turned 18 he made sure his Aunts, Brittany, Arnetta, Akua and Uncle Mookie took him with them. They say it was no party without him being there. He always enjoyed being at Aunt Onika house like all of the kids. Uncle Fred’s favorite statement for him was “That’s my Dawg”.Many may not know this about Darvin, but he had a desire for Bible truths. For years he attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. As his aunt would put it, “he knew where those scriptures were”. At an early age he accompanied his mother and brother in the door-to-door ministry.Darvin showed his appreciation for the ransom sacrifice that Jesus provided for all mankind by attending annually the Memorial celebration of Jesus Christ’s death.Darvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Destiny London Jones (Rosheda), Great Grandfathers (Walter Cox and Claude Parker), and Grandfather (Phillip Jones Sr.). He leaves to mourn: his Father, Phillip Jones, Jr.; Mother, Yolanda Parker; Stepfather, Christopher Parker; six brothers, Kedrick, Dominick, Paris, Davon, Ja’air and Jordan, two sisters, Alleah and Brelia; three step brothers, Davon, Tavon, and Aquil; three Great Grandmothers, Katherine Jones, Josseblle Cox, and Carlille Parker; three grandmothers, Sheilla V. Crosby (William), Youlanda Stevenson (Larry), and Portia Pettyford; two grandfathers, Orlando Willis, Sr. (Patricia), and Robert West (Stephanie); Step Grandparents, Alonzo Parker (Debbie) and Patricia Parker; seven Aunts, Lanette Pool, Onika West, Youlanda West, Brittany Bryant, Arnetta Crosby, Christlynn Parker, and Akua Crosby; six Uncle, Robert West Jr. (Robbie), Orlando Willis, Jr. Kevin Jones, Fredrick West, William Crosby, and Christian Parker, three great Aunts, Harriett Randall, Betsy Clark, and Brenda Suggs (Stanley); three great uncles, Gerald Lee Smith, Sr., Michael Smith, and Joseph Smith; a Special Friend Dominique Day; and a Host of cousins and friends.
