Deacon Darryl D, Jackson Obituary “They that love beyond the world cannot be separated by it…” -Will Penn Darryl D. Jackson was born on March 4, 1955, to the late Gertrude and Charles Jackson, Sr. He was the fifth child born to his loving parents. He grew up in a strong, loving christian home in Catonsville, Maryland along with his two brothers and three sisters. Darryl admired his older siblings Diane, Sheila, Khalif (Charles, Jr.) and Sharon (all preceding him in death). He also was a proud “Big Brother” to Kevin, his youngest sibling. Darryl was one to make known that he enjoyed, and cherished all the quality time he shared with his family during holidays and vacations away from home. The family home was always filled with so much love and laughter and the pleasant aroma of delicious meals being prepared by his favorite person in the world, “Mom Gertrude”. Darryl received his education in the Baltimore County School System. He was a proud graduate of Catonsville High School class of 1973. As a teenager you would find Darryl rooting for the Catonsville Comets during any sporting event. After graduating from high school, Darryl became a loyal employee with “Kenny Shoes” and later a dedicated team member of the “ Domino's Pizza Corporation”. At an early age Darryl and his siblings were baptized at the Leadenhall Baptist Church. He enjoyed attending Sunday School with his friends and Weekly Worship Services with his family. Darryl became a lifelong, faithful member of the Leadenhall Baptist Church family, always willing to serve wherever he was needed. Through the years he became a dedicated member of the Wilson Inspirational Choir, Male Chorus and was ordained as a Deacon April 30, 1995. Darryl was a man of little needs and simple pleasures. He seriously considered himself a “gourmet chef." He was a pillar member of the Roberts Ave Community in Catonsville. He loved to watch sports and various weekly television shows. Darryl cherished his parents and assisted with their primary care as they began to age, which included helping with daily needs and providing emotional support prior to their leaving this temporary home here on earth and going on to their Heavenly home to be with the Lord. On Saturday, January 18, 2025. After he routinely prepared his morning breakfast, God looked down upon the earth and called his humble servant Darryl into his heavenly home very suddenly. Our loving brother Darryl’s spirit continues to surround those who hold him close and dear to the heart. “When you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know” Darryl leaves to celebrate his life and treasure his memories: Brother; Kevin Jackosn; Nephews, Mwanza and Khalif, II: Great nieces and nephews; His Leadenhall Church family and a host of cousins, extended family members and friends. “To God Be the Glory”
