Darrell M. Johnson

Darrell Marquez Johnson, affectionately known as Hector, Craig, and Booda was born Tuesday, October 8, 1996 to Tanyell Rogers and Micah E. Johnson. Darrell transitioned his life on Sunday, March 26, 2023 He was born and raised in Baltimore City. Darrell took extreme pride in fatherhood and wore the title well. Darrell received his education in Baltimore’s private school system to include St. James and John and mother Mary Lang. He graduated and completed his educational journey with completion at his parents’ alma mater, Paul Laurence Dunbar Sr. High School. Darrell had goals and aspirations to pursue a career as an EMT/ paramedic, but often met challenges related to his disease process, sickle cell His most recent job was an ambulance driver with ProCare. Early in childhood, Darrell accepted and received Jesus as his savior and never denied it. Darrell was highly intelligent, vocal, aware, and inquisitive. He enjoyed being a “Dad” to Noah, who gave him the greatest satisfaction of parenting. One of Darrell’s passions was cooking. He was an exceptional cook. Darrell also family time, he enjoyed family trips, he enjoyed jazz music, he loved he loved to be well dressed, and from early age he learned to love “The lord”, Darrell is to be acknowledged for carrying and sleeping with his maternal, Gwen’s, bible Darrell could be seen at his high school game celebrations with parents. Proceeding Darrell in death and awaiting him with open arms his maternal grandmother, Gwendolyn Johnson; His maternal great grandmother Josephine “Phine” McCoy; and his maternal uncle Jamal Thomas. Also awaiting Darrell with open arms paternal great grandfather, Edward Johnson and his paternal grandfather (#2), Caleb Simms. Darrell is leaving to forever cherish his memory and legency; his son, Noah Hylton Johnson (Jordon); his dedicated mother Tanyell Rogers (Eric); his father Micah Johnson (Dedrah); his only brother “lil” Micah Johnson; his maternal grandfather, Harold Thomas, his paternal grandmother Cassandra Johnson, and paternal Grandfather, Bernard Johnson (Jackie) and seven additional step siblings, he is also survived by his one niece, Aniyah and his four nephews Brayden, Cole, Roman, and Grayson. Darrell shared a special relationship with his uncle, Shallan Johnson, his Godmother Shada’ Medley, and his cousin, “lil” Jamal. Darrell is thankful for the lasting love among a host of other relatives and friends
