Darreck Thomas Hodge

DARRECK THOMAS HODGE, son of Mary Owens-Harris and Darrell Dewitt Hodge Sr., was born on September 30, 1986 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life suddenly on February 21, 2013. He received his education at The Children’s Guild, Villa Maria and Hanna More School in Baltimore, Maryland. At the age of nine, Darreck began his music career as an upcoming rapper and star. Darreck was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church along with his mother and his brother Kevin. Darreck had lots of friends and fans who he touched through his music. Darreck loved his music and produced a lot of music in which he wrote, sang and produced. Darreck won the battle of the rappers sponsored by 92Q and retired with the belt after winning five competitions. Darreck was known in the music industry as P-Bodi and later changed his star name to Bodi-Roc. Darreck is a very talented young man who enjoyed people, going to Massanutten, his favorite vacation resort, amusement parks, and quiet time with his family. He was affectionately called “Bud” by his family. He loved helping everyone. We are so proud of him, when his grandfather Thomas had a stroke in 2007, he helped care for him, especially after the death of his grandmother Lula. Darreck became the proud father of two lovely girls, Nikaiya Aliya Jordan born March 9, 2003 and Sanaa Nevaeh Hodge born may 8, 2008. His girls meant the world to Darreck. Darreck spent his life with a special friend “Jordan,” who never left his side; she was with him at his hour of death on February 21, 2013. He leaves to mourn: his mother, Mary M. Owens-Harris; father, Darrell Dewitt Hodge Sr.; four brothers, Eric A. Harris Jr., Kevin A. Harris, Bobby Q. Woody and Darrell Hodge Jr.; two daughters, Nikaiya Aliya Jordan and Sanaa Nevaeh Hodge; grandfathers, Thomas A. Owens Sr. and Henry Hodge; (grandmothers, Lula Mae Owens and Shirley Fowlkes preceded him in death); sis aunts, Adrienne Owens, Evelyn Owens-Williams, Brenda Lee Owens, Sula Ann Owens, Tanya Owens and Jamese Folks; one uncle, Thomas Alphonso Owens Jr.; seven nephews, Eric Harris III, Keon Harris, Reshad Woody, Tyrell Harris, Keishean Woody, Bobby Woody Jr. and Kamari Woody; one niece, Brianna Woody , all of Baltimore, Maryland; a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins who live in North Carolina and Georgia who join with the family in his Celebration of Life; his best friend, Robert (Bobby) Yeager of Eastern Shore, Maryland; and a host of family and fans.
