Darlene M. Cato

Darlene Michelle Cato, daughter of Andrew J. and Alice V. Cato, was born on April 2, 1959 in Baltimore, Maryland. She suddenly departed this life on the morning of April 12, 2004. Darlene accepted Christ at an early age and was confirmed and baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in 1973.She attended the Baltimore City Schools, graduating from Western Senior High School in June 1977. Darlene matriculated to Baltimore City Community College for one year and later earned a certificate in Computer Programming.She briefly worked for the Baltimore City Public School System followed by her employment with the United States Postal Service from November 1985 until her passing. Darlene made numerous friends during her employment; including Linda, who preceded her in death, Jean, Carolyn, Thelma, Tandy, Connie and Brown. They will forever remain in the hearts and minds of her family and of her fiancé, Ronald Lee. Darlene was also a spectacular "Avon Lady".Darlene and Ron met in 1986. They shared many years together filled with love and challenges that facilitated their growth and strengthened their respect for one another.Darlene was honest, fearless, loving and giving. She did everything in a “top of the line” way. Darlene enjoyed plays, shopping, sports, cookouts, making her delicious potato salad and the shows, Trading Spaces and Real World. She routinely engaged in many of these activities with her sister, Donna and her niece, Taryn. Darlene was greatly inspired by the ministry of Bishop T.D. Jakes. She will always be loved by her family, including extended family members, Kathy Karen, Reginol, Kevin, Cedric, their children and her beautiful Bishan, Rocky.Darlene’s memory will forever be cherished by: parents, Andrew and Alice Cato; fiancé, Ron Lee; sisters, Patricia Miller, Denise Cato and Donna Jones; brother, Duane Cato; sister-in-law, Donna Cato; godchildren, Everett and Kaylyn Chatman, Alyssa and Aliyah Jones and Brandon Alexander; nieces, Nicole Miller, Tamika Browner, Kelita Hammond, Patrice Miller and Taryn Jones; nephews, David Miller and Brandon Alexander; great-nephew, Donavyn Hill; and a host of other relatives and friends.
