Darlene Estelle Wilson

On September 5, 1954, God allowed Darlene E. Wilson to enter this world to proud parents Laura Wilson and the late Harry West, Sr. on Monday, May 10, 2004, God sent His loving angels to call Darlene to rest for a life of eternal peace with Him.Darlene received her education at one of Baltimore’s handicapped schools. For many years, she worked as a full time employee for Baltimore Association of Retarded Citizens (BARC).At an early age of life, Darlene accepted Christ as her personal savior. She was truly and inspiration to everyone she came in contact with. Darlene enjoyed worshipping and praising the Lord. She was a life long member of the First Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, under the leadership of Bishop Cornelius Showell. There was never a time when the doors of the church were open and she was not there. She was a faithful missionary.Darlene was a member of the Youth and Young Adult Ministry. She also served on the Young Adult Choir, Senior Choir and the Missionary Ministry. Darlene was always willing to serve the Lord in any way she could. She also took her ministry outside of the church. Darlene would visit the sick and shut-in and would show her love by attending homegoing services, even if she didn’t know the deceased.Darlene will always be remembered by her humble spirit, her warm and friendly personality and her beautiful smile.Darlene had a very close relationship with her mother, Laura, and her brother Dennis. He mother always expressed what a joy it was to have Darlene in her life. She was very proud of Darlene’s accomplishments and loved sharing a home with her for 49 years. Dennis fondly recalls how often Darlene witnessed to him about the goodness of God and how she always encouraged him to trust in the Lord.Darlene leaves a legacy of love to: her loving mother, Laura Wilson; three brothers, Dennis, Darryl and Nick; two special nieces, Sheena and Sheren; one aunt, Peggy Harris; two dear friends, Elaine and Powell; one sister-in-law, Rhonda, and a devoted and dedicated friend, Diane Parker; a host of cousins, relatives and friends and her loving church family.Harry West, Sr. (father), Harry West, Jr. brother) and Roy Wilson (uncle) preceded her in death.
