Craig D. Sanders

CRAIG DUVALL CHRISTOPHER SANDERS was born to Ernest and Marie Carmen Sanders on December 8, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Northern High School in 1976. He also attended RETS Electronic School and received a certification in electrical wiring. He was raised Catholic and later joined the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church where he married the “love of his life” – Cookie. They were married on December 8, 1990 – on his birthday – so he would never forget their anniversary! Throughout their marriage, they had many nicknames for each other; the most recent one was “Moozie.” Cookie was with her “Moozie” until the time of his death and will never forget his peaceful departure on September 16, 2012. No one could ever say that Craig did not enjoy his life, and he lived his life exactly the way he waned. When his wife, Cookie was preparing for his 40th birthday party, she wanted to capture all of his hobbies and interests: fishing, flying, scuba diving, swimming, boating and carpentry. She was asked by the party coordinator, an African American female, “Is your husband Black?’ While he had many interests, he was greatly known for his expertise in the home improvement arena. He started his own home improvement company – uniquely called Ernest Ernest and Son/Hard Bodies Construction. He later was employed by Lakeside Benefits until he was no longer able to work in the manner he wanted. He skills as a carpenter can be seen throughout many homes in the Baltimore Metropolitan area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Sanders-Wilson and Ernest Sanders. Craig was a devoted husband, brother and true friend to anyone who needed help. He leaves to his legacy and loving memory always: wife, Glenora Wells-Sanders (Cookie); stepmother, Augustine Sanders; stepson, Tony Wells, Jr.; brother, Drake Sanders; sisters-in-law, Stephanie Sanders, Gloria Williams and Diane Chandler-Jones; niece, Jennifer Blair and her husband, Kevin Blair; nephews, Drew, Nicholas, Little Kevin, Devin and Christopher who is also his godson; cousins, Patsy, Kenneth, Eric, Bo, Debbie, Carol and Uncle John; grandchildren through marriage, Quierra, Trinity, Dallas and Raven; a host of other relatives; and four deeply devoted friends until the end, Stan, Paul, Smitty and Sherrie. He will be deeply missed by friends, work buddies, and family.
