Constance Virginia Foster

CONSTANCE V. FOSTER, 90 years old, was born on January 8,1936 in Baltimore, Maryland. She passed away July 26, 2026 in Williamsburg, Virginia where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law. Her parents. Leonald Brown and Elizabeth Coates are deceased. She was married on December 7, 1957 to James E. Foster Sr.; he preceded her in death November 12, 2009. She was educated in Baltimore City Public School System, attended Morgan State University for premed courses and enrolled in a student nursing program to become an LPN. She continued her education with courses at Loyola College to enhance her skills as a ventilator nurse. She held several positions in her nursing career: Assistant Nurse Manager, IV Therapist, Drug Addiction Nurse, Family Counselor, and lastly working on an Alzheimer’s unit when she retired. Constance always spoke highly of her grandmother who taught her to read at an early age from the Bible. Those religious teachings gave her the fortitude to endure life’s burdens and help others along the way. She was generous to others, loving, caring, and showed immense compassion. She always took time out to listen and give advice. She loved to tell stories and make people laugh. She was blessed to have people in her life who loved her. She was a strong Christian woman who believed in God and shared her faith with others. Constance was preceded in death by several family members near and dear to her heart: son James E. Foster Jr. (Steven), brothers Joseph Coates (Tia), Clarence Coates and oldest sister Frances Meredith (Kevin), several nieces Toni, Robin, Tia, nephew William Meredith, best friends Ethyl White and Velma Johnson, as well as a host of other family and friends. Constance leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Andre Brown (Denecia and Andre Brown), Aaron Knight (Loreice and Alyssa); daughter, Eydie Adams (Jerry); grandson, Steven Foster; two sisters, Helen Johnson (Anita), and Louise Pittman (Lawrence and Stephanie); brother, John Coates (Yvonne, Tory, Kris, Karl); a host of grandchildren and one great-grandchild, nieces, nephews; adopted grandchildren, Trenton, Tyler, Layla Jackson and their parents, Nikesha and Christopher Jackson; and close family friends, Phyllis and David Houston, Norma and Jesus Paez, Jesse Paez, Krystal, Justin, Tucker, Troy, Reagan Bella Allbritton, Sylvia Martinez, Greta St. Rose, Mark Stuckey, and Iva Braxton.
