Constance Ramona Dandridge

Obituary Ms. Constance (Connie) Ramona Clory Dandridge was born in King William County, Virginia on November 24, 1932, to Walter Clory and Susie Clory Latney. She was educated in the King William County School System. At a very young age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Oak Grove Baptist Church. There she served for more than 60 years with a faithful and steadfast devotion to service and worship; most recently in the capacity of Deaconess and Mother of the Church until her death. In September 1954, she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Arthur William Dandridge, Sr. Their union was blessed with four children. For more than 50 years, Ms. Connie worked faithfully in the home of the Jeter family. Because of her love, excellence, and devotion to her job, they also considered her a personal friend and a member of their family. She was an avid gardener who loved working with flowers and plants. She enjoyed traveling, eating good food, and watching television. She was well-read and faithfully read the newspaper daily while completing the crossword puzzles and collecting every recipe she could find. Anyone who knew Ms. Connie would describe her as quiet and kind. While her words were few, her love ran deep. Rarely would she end a conversation without saying “I love you.” Ms. Connie was dedicated to her family, church, and friends. She was generous and gentle and truly loved serving the Lord by showing His love to all she encountered. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and her husband of nearly 50 years. She leaves to cherish her memories: four children, Susie M. Dandridge of Richmond, VA, Rosalind I. Dandridge of King William, VA, Arthur W. Dandridge, Jr. (Jennifer) of King William, and Eric W. Dandridge, Sr. (Gwendolyn) of Midlothian, VA; nine grandchildren, Demond, Antonio, Jerald, Sheena, Shanika, Devin, Artie, Brandi (Lamont), and Eric, Jr.; twenty great grandchildren; two sisters, Sallie Foster of Austin, Texas, and Dorothy Hill of King William, VA; two sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Lewis and Gloria Williams; one brother-in-law, Lloyd Dandridge; special friends, Deaconess Hannah Gray, Ms. Ophelia Thornton, Ms. Bessie Wilkerson, Ms. Hilda Williams, and Ms. Carrie Garlick; two devoted caregivers, Lisa Moore and Brenda Weeden; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. We are grateful to have had the blessing of Mrs. Constance Ramona Dandridge for more than 91 years. She was loved beyond measure and even though she is no longer here with us, we will always feel her love guiding us.
