Connie Lee Hayden

Mother Connie L. Hayden went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 13, 2019. Mother Hayden was born May 16, 1934, to the late Matthew Alston and Mother Beatrice Lett. She was preceded in death by her step father Deacon Dennis Pitchford, brother JB Alston, sister Bethenia Harvey and husband George Hayden. At an early age, she was baptized in Jesus name according to the scripture, Acts 2:38. She attended McIvery High School where she received her high school diploma. After high school she moved to Richmond, Virginia to establish a better life for her family. Mother Hayden later started her nursing career. Mother Hayden later received the gift of the Holy Ghost speaking in other tongues under the leadership of the late Bishop John W. Pernell. She served as a Missionary in the Church Of Our Lord Jesus Christ for over 60 years. She was a devoted servant of the Lord. She served in many capacities that included Missionary President at Miracle COOLJC, Choir Director, Usher Board member, Women's Council member, Pastor Aide President. She was also well known for her teaching and witnessing for the Lord. Her Missionary work included visiting the jail, hospital, and the sick and shut in. She was truly a prayer warrior. Mother Hayden loved her family and church family. Her favorite songs were "It's Real" and "Remind Me Dear Lord". Her favorite scripture was Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and forever". Mother Hayden leaves to cherish her memory seven children, Matthew Hayden, Deacon Edwin Hayden (Thomasine), Connie Cook (Michael), Barry Hayden, Joy Pride (Kim), Daryl Hayden (Tomika), Shanel Hayden, and 1 step-son, Calvin Saunders; 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; her sister, Evelyn Riley; 2 brothers, minister Dennis Pitchford (Charlene) and Eldridge Alston; a devoted aunt, Mother Diane Bolling; devoted niece, Denise Pitchford; devoted friends, Bishop and Lady Woodbury and Ms. Louburna Jackson; 3 sisters-in-law, Ruth Porter, Gloria Hawkins, and Jaqueline Hayden; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted Pastor and First Lady Vincent.
