Clifton Perry

Clifton Perry was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 28, 1927 to the late Edward Perry and Beatrice Nugent. He was one of four children who all preceded him in death. The curtain has fallen on the beautiful life of Clifton Perry. Clifton answered God’s call to come home on August 17, 2007 at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center after a lengthy illness.Clifton was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and furthered his education while serving in the United States Army. He received an honorable discharge from the United States Army. Clifton met and married Evelyn Adams and to this union five children were born, Edward “Bill,” Rodney, Dennis, Princess and Darrin “Love.” He was a devoted father and his children lovingly called him “Pop,” “Dad,” and “Mr. Perry.”Clifton worked for the United States Postal Service and received numerous awards and accommodations. His colleagues because of his knowledge, wisdom and positive attitude respected him. Clifton remained with the United States Postal Services until his retirement.Clifton loved the Lord and gave his life to Christ at an early age. For the past six years, he was a devoted member at Crusade for Christ Ministries, where he served as a spiritual father and was affectionately known as “Daddy Perry.” He faithfully attended Bible Study and loved studying God’s Word.July 15, 2002, Clifton married the love of his life Catherine Jordan to whom he was devoted until the time of his death.Clifton was not the type of person to sit around. Because he was multi-talented, he kept busy. He was an electrician, electronic technician, he did home improvement, and he was a painter, carpenter, plumber, auto mechanic, cement finisher, and a masonry worker. You name it; he could do it and do it with perfection.Clifton was fun loving and outgoing and made friends wherever he would go. He knew just how to say what was on his mind, and still respected your feeling. His friends called him “Chippie,” and respected him for his honesty. Clifton had a beautiful smile, and when he laughed, you could not help but to laugh with him. He will be sincerely missed.Clifton Perry leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife, Catherine Perry; five children, Edward “Bill,” Rodney, Dennis, Princess and Darrin “Love”; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two godchildren, Minister Jerome and Nita; several spiritual children and grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He also leaves to cherish his memory: his spiritual daughter and Pastor, Reverend Gloria Holt and two close friends, Corbin and Matthew.
