Clifford A Farmer Sr.

Clifford Andrew Farmer, Sr. was born September 24, 1924, son of the late Charles and Katie Mae (Stidham) Farmer in Hackensack, New Jersey. Clifford departed this life on April 24, 2019 at his home among family, at the age of 94. Clifford was the last living sibling of eleven children. He went to school at Bragg Elementary in Sparrows Point. He served in the Navy between 1943-1946 with an honorable discharge. He worked at Caplan Grain Co for over 30 years as a Foreman. He then worked as a custodian in the Baltimore County School System for 5 years. He had many talents and trades that followed him throughout his life. He fell in love with Blanche M. Lewis and became united as one in October 1942. Anyone who knew Clifford, knew he loved working with his hands. He touched the lives of many people by designing and making furniture; refinishing and repairing beautiful wooden art. He added a special touch to all of his work and felt proud of what he accomplished. He loved sitting on the porch of his home and watching his family during holidays and birthdays while drinking his favorite beverage, Pepsi. Clifford was a friend and neighbor to all who knew and visited him. He enjoyed many drives in his pick-up truck and everyone knew it was "Cliff" when he cruised around the neighborhood. He was always encouraging others to do their best. Clifford had an awesome sense of humor. He would make anyone laugh and was always honest. He was particular about certain things and liked things his way or no way. He didn't mind disciplining and putting the belt to the butts, as his children most remember. He was loved and most importantly he loved his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Blanche; daughter, Mary (Puggy); son, Sylvester Sr. (Vess); two son-in-laws, Edward Sr. (Mushy) and Elwood Jr. (Bolly); daughter-in-law, Lue Ethel; one grandson, Edward Jr. (Crawley); and great grand-daughter, Brittany. He leaves to mourn his six children, Shirley, Clifford, Jr., Brenda, Mitchell, Linda, and Anthony; one sister-in-law, Betty; one son-in-law, Myron; three daughters-in law, Lethia, Barbara, and Terry; twenty grandchildren (including spouses); twenty-seven great grandchildren (including spouses); twelve great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
