Clayton L. Butts

Clayton Lamont Butts was born on May 15, 1962 to the late Beulah Mae Butts and John Butts. He departed this life after a lengthy illness on Friday, May 12, 2023. Marty, as he was affectionately known was a very bright and intelligent youth. He attended Carver Vocational Technical High School. In school, he was a mathematical wiz! After high school, he joined the Army Reserve. Marty had a love for Basketball and Baseball. He coached little league. His favorite basketball team were the LA Lakers, making purple and yellow his favorite colors. With a love for cooking, most of Marty's jobs were in kitchens as a Cook. He worked for Jimmy's in Fells Point for a number of years. He also worked for Shake & Bake Family Fun Center where his boss stated that "he was one of the best worker's and coordinator's." He was a jack-of-all trades, able to do many things; excellent with his hands. Marty, with his personable character, met friends everywhere he went. He was a very likeable person. Remembering his Christian roots, he'd always remember to bring his Bible along with him wherever he went. In his later years, he joined his sister Francine's church where she, along with her husband Pastor James Sutton Jr., were the :Pastors. It was during this time that he re-dedicated his life back to Christ! Yes, he was a faithful member of Restoration Worship Center, dedicated to the on-line Bible study sessions active in the Outreach Ministry where he helped serve the homeless. Lastly, when his assignment on earth had ended, Marty departed this life on Friday, May 12 , 2023 after a lengthy illness. There waiting was his family that had gone on before him. His mother, Beulah Mae Butts, his father, John Butts, his beloved sister Sheila Bonner, and his big brother, Nathaniel Bonner. . Marty leaves to celebrate his life, five children, Latrice Butts, Jamaal Butts (Wanda), Levon Butts Sr., Ashley Butts, and Corey Butts. Two granddaughters, Payton, and Zari. Five grandsons, Nehemiah, Dasean, Jayden, Konnor, and Levon Jr. One brother Kevin Butts (Marie). Three sisters, Gloria Howard (Norvin) Lynn Butts, and Delilah Sutton (James). A very special nephew, Lamont Morgan, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
