Claudia Marcelene Scott

Claudia “Kitty” Macelene Scott was born September 12, 1951 in Farmville, Virginia, to the late Whitfield and Bobbie Jackson Scott. She was also the granddaughter of the late Samuel and Rosa Bell Hall Jackson and the late Herbert and Mary Francis Scott. Claudia grew up in the Abilene community in Charlotte County, Virginia. She was baptized at a young age and was a member of Triumph Baptist Church in Darlington Heights. Claudia also worshipped at Saint Douglas Baptist Church in Abilene. Claudia attended Charlotte County Public Schools where she excelled academically. Shortly after graduating from Patrick Henry High School in 1969, Claudia moved to Washington, DC, where she embarked on her career path of accounting and business administration. She graduated with honors and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern University. She set a university precedent and was able to complete her four year coursework in one and a half years. Claudia, then applied to and was accepted to several law schools, including William & Mary and Suffolk University. Claudia moved to Boston and attended Suffolk University’s School of Law while also working as a CPA with the firm of Daniel Dennis and Associates. She was a hard working and dedicated employee. While forging ahead in her career, she was a very doting and involved mother. She was president of the Parent Teacher Association at Robin’s school for an extended period. Claudia relocated to Virginia in 1989 and settled in Richmond’s Church Hill neighborhood which reminded her of Boston’s cobblestone streets and historic architecture. She made numerous friends in the neighborhood, where she remained for the rest of her life. Claudia was not only a kind neighbor, but a devoted and loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. Claudia was a wonderful cook and excelled in not only traditional Southern cuisine, but dishes inspired from around the world. She also loved to entertain and was known to host meals for family and friends. Her door was open on holidays to those who did not have family in the area, or to anyone who wanted to sample a wonderful meal. Her fondness of food and entertaining carried over into employment in the hospitality and restaurant industry for several years. Claudia also maintained her love for accounting and had her own tax business for the last 25 years. In 2007, she also became a partner in a transportation service. She most recently partnered with Translink and had a loyal customer base. She was an outstanding example of a very giving human being who always managed to somehow put others before herself. Claudia was the light of her family. Our Claudia was a true reflection of God’s love! Claudia peacefully joined the angels of heaven and entered eternal rest on April 9, 2015. Leaving to cherish her memory a devoted daughter, Robin Scott; a caring sister, Carolyn “Patsy” Scott; aunt, Rosalee Scott; uncle, James Jackson; two goddaughters, Elise and Amy Sale; devoted friend, John Bullock, III; a host of many cousins, friends and loving neighbors.
